We lost because we lack quality and plus we are not that good. Also GA want m to play save in CM when attacking changes were required earlier

We should send Smith to Swindon next season, he’ll be a different player in January.
Just another example of poor recruitment and there is no way Rupp is to blame for that.

No, we lacked a natural goal scorer. The rest of the play all over the pitch was fantastic, better than I’ve seen from any opposition this season.

Not, just down to a forward to score goals.

We lack quality and that’s been clear all bloody season.

The mud didn’t stop Butcher pinging it into the corner with his first shot at goal.

Smith's already done his loan spell at Swindon, and Barrow for that matter.

In my opinion that was a clear shot whilst running towards goal it's was a really good finish into the bottom corner aided by a deflection on the way in.
Regards the mud or indeed the surface in general we have no control over our weather but I can't help think we've been badly advised and ripped off again by surface contractors. What ever they did to the pitch it's failed miserably in my opinion.
The home run in could prove very costly playing on that surface.

Because he has missed a few this season he would have buried last year he is either taking to many touches or snatching at chances. He needs to keep netting a few and the confidence will return. Canavan usually has him in his pocket though

We have a complicated and delicate relationship with our pitch, due to sunshine distribution, being at the bottom of the hill and debris under the pitch to put it right we need millions. On many occasions it never makes it through the winter. This year according to the groundsman the under 21’s were playing on it and a heavy frost came down and it irreparably damaged the grass.

We can’t afford to spend millions on it and it isn’t our stadium which makes it more of a problem. I think the staff are brilliant as they managed to get the games on despite the rain and frost.

The ground staff deserve a medal that's for sure.
Re the cost if the owner doesn't allegedly want to invest anymore monies then I have no idea we're we are going with this problem

How staggeringly short sighted can you be. So their keeper making two or three saves that normally would go in is the difference between a good performance and a bad performance? Equally if we'd played shite and scored from a flukey own goal I'd have no positivity moving forward.

Reading this thread I don’t think people are celebrating a loss they are appreciating a good performance

We couldn't score at home to an abysmal Wycombe side. It doesn't matter how many crosses were put in or how many shots were attempted from whoever, the bottom line is we lost (again) to Wycombe and failed to score on an occasion that was hyped by the club, GA, the players.

It's more failure however you want to dress it up, therefore my point stands as factually correct, it shows how low we have sunk (during x or y timeframe under x or y managers over x or y seasons) that we are celebrating a 0-1 defeat to Wycombe.

Maybe that's an issue in itself?

Perhaps we should be more savvy and protect the pitch a little more, instead of busting a gut to get a game on, let nature take its course and let the game get abandoned and saved for a better day.

It was a performance indicative of a team who are about to go on a run of positive results. I'm convinced we will make the play offs after what I saw last night. I'll save this thread to revisit come the final few games of the season.

Results matter for the game that's been and gone but the performance is an indicator of what lies ahead.

Don't mind Smith, to be honest, and we wouldn't have got to a semi-final in the tinpot cup without him.

His issue has been Hughes playing only one up front (almost always Cook).

He hasn't done any worse for us than Jake Young, and Jake Young hasn't exactly done much since coming back from Swindon as a 'different player'.

I was in the suite on Saturday and Richards was the pre game player answering questions. He said he was ready to play but hadn't been allowed to, so it must have been a concussion ban. It must be over by now, so he should be available.
