I’m hoping the new signings get fit and firing quickly as our lack of decent options off the bench was very telling today.

After making our subs we got worse and worse and Wycombe got better with their subs (mainly the winger that came on). After 60 minutes a draw seemed pretty harsh on us but by the end it was fair given Wycombe’s domination for the final 20 minutes.

 

A fair few suffering from squeaky bum syndrome already. 3 months to go, be one hell of a roller-coaster ride

 

What happened to the 'aim for play offs' mentality of a few weeks ago???

Exactly Dave. Their will be positive results we will not anticipate and vice versa both here at VP and the absolute glut of other teams caught up in the relegation threat.

Do you reckon supporters of other clubs have similar complaints about there strikers of a struggling third division team?

I’m sure I read on another thread someone saying that Hopkin needed to show some class. Can’t for the life of me remember who though.

 

Doyle up front on his own just doesn't work. That's why we were supposed to sign a target man wasn't it? I like his perseverance, but it's just not working out for him. His touch was poor today, and he even had one slap bang on his forehead that he put wide. Not sure what to do. Dropping him for Miller will be the same but different. Would love to see us playing two up front, with full backs whipping the ball in. Both Caddis and Wood put some lovely crosses into the box today, so it shows we can do it without wingers.

Payne and OB were as usual, outstanding today, as was O'Connor. Goal line clearances seem to be his thing. Should have killed the game off, but half time came too early. I don't think they really looked like scoring, and it was our defence making their pinballs look like attempts on goal really.

Wouldn't be suprised to see Ball rested for Clarke. He took a couple of nasty knocks today, and will certainly be feeling it tmrw.

Disappointed we didn't win this - don't wanna single anyone out, but I do point the finger suggestively at Doyle.
