Clearly its not going to happen next season. But given the appalling state of the playing standard at the club it very well might at the end of next season ?

I dont say this lightly: because it would mean that Stuart had precided over the clubs final fall from grace.

But would it actually be an "opportunity" if we lost our Football League status ?. I site Lincoln; Tranmere, Luton !, Oxford, Accrington, Shrewsbury, Bristol Rovers, and even Wimbledon !. The latter a complete phoenix reinvention of a former FL club who started again from ground zero. AND still manage to overall us inside a decade ! ? Plus likes of Orient , Mansfield, Exeter, Newport - another phoenix job ! , Cambridge now back and in better fettle than us ? Infact nigh on all the clubs in L2 have yoo yooyed between Non League and L2 over the past two decades ? Its a feature.

Clearly there are some deeply worrying examples where its gone to total sh1t. Chesterfield, Notts County; Stockport; York. But on the balance it appears a "good thing" Certainly we have built a playing squad no better than NL standard. Would that team on Saturday smash the NL ? Absolutely no chance that it would. Infact I wager it would be at the wrong end of the NL.

There really is nothing between L2 and the National League. I site Harrogate as an example. Better run, more progressive and defintely wealthier club. And with better players individually and collectively.

We have no longer any right to be a Football League club. We have near as damn it regressed into a Non League oufit on and off the pitch ? So would it represent a opportunity to regroup; rebuild and renergise the club. It might take 5 years ? but if it did and we could comeback like Luton Town would it ultimately be better than looking at another decade or more like we are ?

if your aim is for us to permanently cease to exist then absolutely. Imagine playing non-league in a 26k seat stadium for a start

    I mean, really?

Any notion that relegation to non-league is anything other than a complete and utter disaster, and a total failure is ridiculous.

Take a deep breath, read what you've written. Sometimes when we're irate and irrational we may write something that defies logic.

Absolute bonkers to suggest a period of isolation in non league football would be a good thing.

Cannot see one good thing about it

What would the benefit of dropping into NL be?

I’m sure we could come up with loads of negatives without much thought but just wondered what positives @BSABantam74@BSABantam74 believes there are

There were plenty on here content with our relegation into league 2 “A chance to get rid of the high earners” “At least we might win a few games now” etc etc.

Lots of them about. Bet they’re loving life at the moment and would love more than to drop into non league. New division, grounds to tick off etc. The ultimate dream.

Noooooo. This level is crap enough for me. I cannot see any positives at all.

Who wants to go up anyway? We could be playing the likes of Barrow, Harrogate and Halifax, three great grounds and probably some real ale or summat. Living the dream.

Imagine a feisty local derby vs Park Avenue in front of a packed out Valley Parade though. Oh boy.

Just one more relegation to press reset, just one more go at sorting the pitch, just one more overhaul of the squad, just one more set of 10 games, just one more period of squad gelling, just one more transfer window, just one more managerial sacking...etc.

We could get the lads at copa 90 on you tube to do video about it. 'The Bradford Derby, the true Yorkshire derby. 50 years since the last battle of the historic mill city'. I'm moist just thinking about it.

That could be a distinct possibility next season we don't need a relegation for that to happen.

I could add to my collection of 70 odd grounds I've been to. Imagine FA Cup qualifying round 4 against Tow Low Town and a 7-2 win... (just for the oldies).

    See two positives: unamused:
