We hardly have sponsors queueing at our door in these testing economic times so keeping the ones already on board happy would be good business sense. Now in football its rare to see a club have the same sponsor for more than a couple of years as brands look to expand their brand in different ways. We have had JCT as part of the City brand for a long time, that brand sponsorship loyalty does bare keeping in mind when looking at potential new sponsors. Now its ok to look at other clubs and compare but the stark reality is its worth what someone is willing to pay, hence the huge disparity in sponsorship deals in other leagues. You can't say we aren't getting market value, that value is what someone is willing to pay, not what someone is willing to pay at another club in comparison.

 

Probably as with the we will invest in the team if we are top six in January it was thought we would be a championship club next season ergo sponsorship worth more could that be the reason

Last year we had 19000 season ticket holders this year we will be lucky to get 14000 and some people think that the sponsorship should be worth more !!!!!

 

The reason will have been JCT had two years left so why would they have renogiated?

Again we don’t know if we sponsors lining up around the block. We shall have to wait for the announcement some time next year.

The deal will need doing by around Christmas time to allow time to sort out the kit for the following year. So our position next summer will have no bearing on the negotiations. That is why they will have started sounding out current sponsors now
