It's probably because he's one of the best CBs in the league

It's probably just as we got 17 new players in 10 weeks ago... Not doing bad given that. I also don't think people appreciate that every time we play there's actually another team on the pitch and they're going to do everything they can to stop us playing. Certainly no-one is turning up to have their belly tickled and half the time it's their cup final

We will only click when we get a settled side which I suspect will be difficult with the tinkering

We need a driving force in midfield, someone who’s first intention when on the ball is to spray it to one of our attackers rather than playing neat triangles on the halfway line. Someone who can run into all the space that the opposition provide an put their defence on the back foot. Someone who’s capable of taking a game by the scruff of its neck. We don’t have anyone of that caliber. Gillead an Smallwood is too much of a defensive partnership an it may work away when the onus is on the home team to create, but at home, we need to be dictating the game rather than the opposition. Sutton once had that ability but he lost it after covid. Osadebe may of looked the part but whether he could of carried that on over a season remains to be seen. East needs a run of games at home to see what he’s about as he’s the only logical choice at this moment

Don't know about anybody else but I'm disappointed when either of Banks or Young aren't playing ...

Someone of that ilk I'd agree. A player that instantly has the opposition setting up defensively expecting the player to be driving forward.

Sides that chop and change needlessly rarely win anything. Hughes likes to tinker with his side's which is one of the reasons he has never won anything as a manager and looks to be repeating it at BCFC

He isn’t tinkering, unchanged in the last two games and just East coming in for Gilliead at Salford when his wife had a baby .So quite the opposite of tinkering.

He chops and changes the squad all the time. Players can play one week and be on the bench or even in the stand the next. He is a tinkerman all his managerial career and unlikely to change. Never won anything so let's hope he does here it's his best chance

Never tinkers with keeper or defence, unless injuries force his hand

Smallwood and Gilliead constant pairing, unless injured

    Chapman and Wright constantly picked

No tinkering whatsoever up front, despite some fans wanting him to do so.

So your charge of constant tinkering is an absolute nonsense.

Just stirring it up for no reason at all

He knows his best eleven at the moment. The keeper, the back four, the central midfield, the lone striker, the left winger. Only two positions he's unsure about are right wing and the '10', only because Periera isn't doing as well as he hoped and Chapman is probably better out wide than central but deputises for the much missed Walker.

One change to the team when Gilliead was unavailable in five matches says otherwise

If he doesn’t freshen it up next week then he’s seeing something 16,000 isn’t. That starting 11 isn’t the best in my eyes, hopefully Banks gets back in and East is given a chance.

After todays absolute shambles if he doesn't change it up for next week and we lose again then he's massively failing in my opinion.

Tuesday night against Swindon showed that we have to have a plan B, today's game against the worst team to vist Valley parade this season: Crawley, only emphasis the situation.

Is MH bonused on possession in our half?
Crawley offered nothing bit could have won the game on the last minutes.

The team has talent but its like watching a race horse with blinkers on. When is MH going to show positivity and let them go?

Another 2 massive points dropped through ineptitude on the bench

Another game where the opposition have apparently “played their best game this season” and we’ve come away with another underwhelming performance.

I maintain the squad and manager is there - but after a pretty underwhelming week of results, a little rocket needs to be lit as I think we can all agree we haven’t come out where we expected to after the past three games following the result at Salford.

Naff week of results IMO. Maybe a well timed cup game and change in personnel is actually what we need......

People need to remember we ended 14th last season and 15th the season before, look at where the likes of Mansfield, Northampton and Swindon ended in comparison. Fair enough Stevenage and Orient have taken everyone by surprise(although if we had George Moncur the league positions might be reversed he’s exactly what we lack imo). What them two teams have done is make less changes than us, if we had Vernam and Watt instead of Dion and Gilliead we’d be higher up imo. A few decent players is what we’re missing yet some already want the manager gone, players contracts ripped up.

Rome wasn’t built in a day, I wonder how many wouldn’t have taken 6th come November pre season.

To be honest, previous seasons mean very little to me when considering this season.

This campaign we have a manager who had time last season and was able to asses what was needed to be urgently addressed. He has signed good quality players and characters and assembled a very very decent squad. Previous two seasons were chalk and cheese versus where the club is now - for that huge credit to those who have changed things around.
We’ve been unlucky with injuries but so far, how many performances can you honestly pinpoint are a fair return on expectations versus the great work the club have done end of last and pre-this season? Unfortunately I’m struggling to name more than 3......

I don’t want any players contracts ripped up, managers sacked nor am I disappointed in the current league position. However yes, I did expect more at this stage and still have this feeling this isn’t the starting XI Hughes intended to kick off the campaign with.

It’s rare a team who are relegated followed by back to back bottom half finishes(excluding the freak Covid season) go on to become top of the league in 16 games. It’ll take patience of course we need to improve but it’s very much a work in progress.
