Agree. To many just looking at City and not the broader picture.
    To put it into context.
    Saturday 2/11/2019 some Championship attendances:
    Wigan V Swansea Attendance: 9,080
    Blackburn V Sheffield Wed Attendance:14,147
Brentford V Bonio fanciers Attendance: 11,727
    Luton V Forest Attendance:10,053
    Reading V Milwall Attendance:14,485

    On 1/11/2019
    Barnsley V Bristol City Attendance:12,178

So 4 games below our attendance out of 12 and two only just above.
Not bad after a disastrous season

£150 is the main reason for the take up, as you say last season was dire but were a forgiving lot.
I'd think the teams above pay around double what we pay, I know its been debated many times but if we were asked to pay the going rate we'd be down to 8 to 10,000 IMO, having said that long may it continue.

£10 a game £140 half season ticket seems fair enough when you pay £20 for individual games.

I'm thinking more of the empty seats and filling the stadium for a better atmosphere.

The only problem will be with fans that bought after the deadline asking for a refund to bring them into line with the rest.

The fans who bought after the deadline, got this deal, “After this time prices will rise by 50%, with adult, student and senior season tickets increasing from £150 to £225”.

So the cost was just under £9.79 a match.

There are 12 home league games after Christmas, starting with Mansfield on the 29th December.

If the club did a ‘half season’ at £120 the price would marginally more expensive at £10 per game.

You have to factor in that those who bought after the deadline, have had an opportunity to enjoy all the games, earlier choice of seats, earlier access to ‘Away tickets’, etc.

‘If’ the club was to progress to the third round of the FA cup and got a plumb home tie, half season ticket holders would have the same opportunity as all existing Season Ticket holders to get tickets.

Personally I am in favour of an initiative to increase the number of Season Ticket holders.

I am amazed that you seem so complacent and incapable of seeing the opportunity empty seats provide for marketing to the unconviced
or timid population in the Bradford area.
Ive said it before and I will say it again that every empty seat at every home game is a lost revenue opportunity.
My background was in low cost aviation which is driven by filling seats to generate a high load factor.
Empty seats are an anathema to me as we already incur all costs of running a game at VP and sit on our hands thinking how clever we are that
we have 14000 regulars most of whom are loyal and have been rewarded with fantastically well priced season tickets over many years.
I am not talking to you lot on here about this subject because my aim is to get the club to recognize the lost revenue they allow to float past us we
congratulate ourselves on filling about 60% of the seats available.
Look on the club website and you would never know we were a football club with tickets available to buy to boost the cash flow for games in
November December January February March April

I was replying to daves £75 idea in his post but I agree £10 a game for half season is still a good deal for those wanting to take advantage.

There's a big difference between the 2, we only have a small potential market and people are unlikely to swap between clubs like airlines. If someone isn't interested it doesn't matter if you make it £1 a match or £20, you only have to look at all the times we've done £1 tickets and they don't get above 20,000. We did it against Oxford when in the play offs and still in with a chance of automatics yet only got 19,000 so what makes people think get over 4,000 more in league 2 (accounting for 900 seats taken by away fans in Midland Road) The only times we've got close to sell outs have been when playing a premier league side and most of the extras are only there for the opposition. What should have been a big match against Leeds only got 18,000 and around 4,500 were away fans so you are looking at over 5,000 empty home seats.

Against Oxford was last season, and we were in the relegation zone not playoffs. In our playoff seasons we had around 18,000 season tickets I don’t remember us doing a £1 game?

The 72 bus to Leeds was 10% full today at 11am. They could let people travel for a penny and it still wouldn’t be full. It’s not lost revenue if there’s no market for it at any price.
The fans we have inside VP at the moment are the only people interested enough in league 2 football. We could let people in for free and there would still be empty seats.
This is at least the 3rd post you’ve made on this matter, please stop now.

i agree, there's this lovely notion that because we are in the top two and if we whack in a cheap offer then we will suddenly have an influx of new fans. Ain't gonna happen. Nothing wrong with a promotion every now and then or an offer for a ticket to cover so many home games but we should respect the fact that we are pulling pretty much unheard of numbers for league 2 football at Valley Parade.

I know mate, but I’m saying when did we last do a £1 game when we were in the playoffs? Because we definitely weren’t then:sweat:

I know it has been said before but there is a couple of major differences between filling the empty seats at VP and on a plane. The first one is the attraction even at a low price may not be there, and the second is the restrictions on what promotions we can actually do. We are restricted to the number of games we can run promotions at, think it is 2. Also we have to let the league know about pricing structures including season tickets before the start of the season, now I’m not sure if that would block us from introducing a half season ticket or not.

We have three homes games in little over a week at christmas , get them priced up now as an ideal christmas/early christmas gift. Starting with salford on the 21st , 3 for £30 or 2 for £20 the mansfield and morecambe double header over new year.

Not sure we would be able to do that without the permission of all the away teams.

The league have changed the rules this year regarding promotions and discounts

34.2.11 Subject to Regulation 34.2.7, discounts or special promotions (in each case for one match only) made available to supporters of the Home Club must also be made available on a similar basis to visiting supporters.

    Guidance

Under the Regulations should any Club wish to offer promotions or discounts for a specific fixture they must either (a) offer the discount or special promotion on a similar basis to visiting supporters or (b) seek the permission of the visiting club to run the promotion for home fans only. In the instance that an agreement cannot be reached it should be reported to the League for consideration. There are no Local Promotions permitted under the Regulation as per previous seasons; any deviation away from the pricing plan submitted at the beginning of the season must adhere to the conditions mentioned above.

Just copied and pasted the term used by the EFL ‘34.2.11 Subject to Regulation 34.2.7, discounts or special promotions (in each case for one match only). I suppose if the club did a BOGOF then it would not apply to ‘one match only’. Not saying it would or would not satisfy the rules. Just a possibility.

I much prefer a ‘half season’ ticket deal, as what you want is people building a pattern of activity which sees going to City as a regular experience rather than a ‘one off’.
