Who is responsible at VP for filling the empty seats at home games?

    Our heavily manned new Commercial department where there seem to have been many new arrivals dont seem to be paying attention to fact that we have a double header of home games coming up this Sat and next Tues.
    If you look at the club official website you will find only a countdown clock to Saturday and nothing like a salesy message to remind or attract new supporters.
    Is it not half term around this week which should enable Dads and kids to come to VP for a game with no excuses needed.? How about a double deal buy one get one free?
    Our non existent sales and promotion activity towards filling every empty seat is a subject I have touched on before.
    We used to have the excuse that we were stretched with very little resource available to allocate to sales.
    That does not count any longer with all the new faces in the management team.

    I will remind you all that we have at least 10000 empty seats available at every home game and I no activity suggesting to me that the top brass at VP are showing any interest in doing anything about it.
    If you look further through the club website you will still find promotional messages for hospitality to games in August and September!
    We still show our address on the website ticket area as Northern Commercials!!! I imagine our new stadium sponsors would be very disappointed to see that.
    In brief, the website shows a lot you need to know about our flimsy sales and promotion and marketing acitivity.
    I want to know which of the new regime at board level is taking responsibility for rectifying this failing area.

    I've lost count of the number of times you've posted something similar on BT.

    I have an idea for you. Give VP a call and book an appointment to see whoever is in charge of commercial affairs these days - it might well be David Garth. Offer your services to him to increase the footfall at VP on match days. Offer to do that for no outlay from the club and for you to take your fee from the additional footfall you generate. If your analysis is correct, there is no risk to the club if you fail. There is only potential upside for both you and the club if you are successful. It's a win-win for all.

    There is of course a benefit to BT from this; something which I don't need to explain!

    We already pay heavily discounted prices to watch football
    Game advertising possibly but the best promotion is winning games and we are doing that

    EFL regulation 34.2.11 states:

    That sounds like two matches then, although I could only guess at the subtle difference between a discount and a special promotion.

    As I iunderstand it, a discount applies as a percentage across all ticket prices, a promotion would be a kids for a quid or BOGOF

    With the run of fixtures we have currently, the Exeter game at the start of November could be top vs. second.

    The club should be targeting this game and looking to get a big partisan home crowd in.

    Crawley, Port Vale and Macclesfield should see us targeting nine points, accepting seven which would likely (possibly) see us top of the pile at the end of the month.

    Let's up the ante now and show L2 what City is about.

    It’s league 2!!!! We have more fans in the stadium than anyone could possibly expect in their wildest imagination.
    The question about empty seats would be valid if we were in the Championship

    Talking about seats, anybody had the problem of severe white staining from the seats. I had a black coat on last night and the back was coated with it as was a lad in front of me. It's like a film, won't come off either.

    There was just over 14,000 there on Saturday. To put this into perspective thats to watch league 2 football after the previous season being the worst in my time of nearly 40 years of watching City. I wouldn't worry about empty seats.

    Yes, it's been like that for years now. If you look at peoples backs on the way out of the ground every dark coat has a dusty like appearence on the back. Its something to do with the seats being old and needing replacing.

    What about one of the Christmas or New Year games for the offer. Would be an opportunity to buy tickets for stocking fillers on Christmas day for a loved one or equally for someone you dont like;-)
    They could run an advertising campaign in the run up to Jesus's birthday along the lines of lets get twenty thousand in the ground or similar.
    "Yule be mad to miss out on this offer" or summat equally cheesy

    You won't find any ground outside the top 2 divisions full to capacity for a league game, barring the rare exception.

    It's nothing to worry about.

    The way we are going we could be in the top 3 ( hopefully top) before Christmas a half season ticket would be a great Christmas gift.
    There would still be 14 home fixtures to play £75 for half a seasin ticket would be win win surely.

    We are well supported for our position in the EFL.Fourth highest average attendance in the bottom two divisions and higher than a few Championship clubs.
    Maybe Julian could do the £1 a ticket possibly the Salford game Saturday before Christmas. Could save some guys from Christmas Shopping.
