I probably went 8-10 years without missing a home game, but then I got married! Still same 40 odd years on. It was easier not to miss games in those days than it is today where there are too many life distractions?

Yeah, I remember those days going to games both home and away. I must admit I wouldn't say my marriage was a distraction... Could use other words!!

Aye probable about 40% away as well, maybe more. Patsy’73 and all that! Even though the crowds were small it was good.

Don't have specific numbers but I went to plenty of Farnborough Town matches in things like the Aldershot Senior Cup and the Hampshire Senior Cup where the combined players and coaching teams probally outnumbered fans

Not sure if attending matches of a team I don't support that even most of the actual hardcore supporters don't turn up for is showing off. It would be like bragging that you are both a trainspotter and stamp collector :)

Not a total attendance one (but can’t have been many) but I was one of 30 City fans away to Cardiff City at Ninian Park, tues night rearranged game. We won 4-2 and Neil Tolson scored an absolute screamer. Fantastic night!

I think you will find that the game was at Valley parade in the 81/82 season. It wasn’t foggy but very windy hence we went a goal down with a drop kick from the Stockport keeper. We went on to win 5-1 with all our goals coming in the last 20 minutes. McNiven didn’t score 4 in that game but later in the season in a win at home to Crewe but it wasn’t foggy that night either.

The lowest league crowd I’ve ever been in was 911 for a game between Halifax and Colchester on a Tuesday night in about 1987. Occasionally my dad took us to the Shay for midweek games if we had nothing better to do.

City wise I think a crowd of about 1,100 were there when we drew 0-0 vs Chester in the early 90’s in the days when Chester played home games at Macclesfield. It was a Tuesday night fixture.

For lack of numbers watching City away I remember a 2-2 draw at Swansea, again in the early where there can’t have been more than 150 of us on the away terrace. Bournemouth away on a Tuesday night a year or so later, a similar amount.

Home league game I think the worst crowds were the odd crowd less than 4,000 under Lennie Lawrence. I can’t remember many under 5,000 up at Odsal.
