I remember the old scoreboard at that end was made up of separate bulbs and it became a bit of agame to try and put them out with stones. Not that I joined in mind.

According to the history books, lowest official attendance to a Bradford City league game was 1048....Workington v bradford 17th November 1973.

    Any attendees?

That had gone by the time I first visited. It was just a strip of open terrace with a grass bank behind it, which I presumed had once had a stand on it

That December 86 match was when I first experienced the Captain Oates End! I'd just moved to Manchester and thought - yay! Away City game just up the road. Jeezus Christ, Oldham was grim - but not as much as that weather. That brass monkey passed me on the way out.

The coldest for me was at the old Rotherham stadium with the running track round it, It was a night game and clear but freezing, Got a hot dog to warm me up and by the time it was in the bun in my hand it was nearly frozen cold, Have never shivered as much and the toilets were full of fans trying to keep warm, Had to wade through brass monkeys on the way out

If it’s the Don Valley Stadium you are referring to , I agree it was freezing cold that day. Plus the view was terrible.

Don't know the attendance but there cannot have been many at the game against Hartlepool which kicked off mid afternoon on a mid week day due to us not being able to use our damaged floodlights. I remember the great Ray Kennedy (Arsenal and Liverpool) playing midfield quarterback for them right at the back end of his career early 80's.
Maybe not my lowest crowd but can't have been far off unless City fans threw a sicky from work.

Need to do more research on what year it was, but Stockport County away in the fog. We won 1-4 or 1-5? McNiven scored four - all in the second half after having been 1-0 down, if my memory serves me. The game should have been called off after ten minutes, the fog was so thick. So not many people in the ground got to see McNiven's goals.

Didn't their keeper score the Stockport goal ? If its the same game we were one nil down until ten from the end and ran out 5.1

That's the one! I was there at Edgeley Park - but not there, because I saw bugger all, and you're right - all our goals came in the last ten minutes or so. But at the time, my mate and I had no idea and only knew when grumbles came back in Chinese whisper style from the Stockport fans. After one of them said we'd gone 1-3 up, we just thought they were taking the piss.

Four of us travelled to watch City at Scarborough in the middle of winter for what I think was a cup game. It snowed like hell on the way there and we were surprised the game was on. There were well under 1000 there. We counted a dozen city fans in the away section.

Taken from when Saturday comes about full mebers cup
Charlton at home to bradford city & birmingham
Only three other non-final matches in the competition’s history attracted more than 20,000 fans and most were played out in front of four-figure crowds. The attendances of 817 and 821 that Charlton brought in for their “home” ties with Bradford and Birmingham in 1986-87 would have looked awesomely bad on the sweeping terraces of the old Valley but the fact that the club was by now sharing at Selhurst Park gives some idea of how far the paying public was prepared to be moved by Full Members Cup fever – not across south London during the rush hour, anyway.
More turned up than i remembered

Brilliant story, does anyone remember the Monty Python sketch, which was filmed on the Kop at VP, there was one spectator, Eric Idle, with his massive city scarf and rattle, we were beaten at home by a lot of mad scots, the look on his face has been replicated many times by myself over the years

Was that the one where Hanson scored a last minute winner and half the City were doing a lap of the track? Happy days!
