Holloway would be a quality manager, I am assuming he has thrown his hat in to get back into management. I would like him or Hurst but I'm not the guy paying the wages so guess it doesn't really matter what I want.

 

If it isn’t difficult to get straight back out of the khazi division then how come it took us so long to do it last time?

They'd suffered back to back relegation and were spending money. 180k on Cullen.

They'd the best strike force in the league in Cullen, Varsell and Delfouneso
Add to that they'd players like Potts, Danns, Black.

They should of gone up automatically.

I'm talking myself out of Bowyer but if it's him so be it but think we need a manager that will lift the City again. He doesn't have to be an Ex Bradford City player but a name that gets people excited one way or the other.

Just a quick question regarding Gary Bowyer.
Do you think Bowyer believes in his own ability to manage a football Club?

Of course he does and perhaps we the supporters of Bradford City football club should do the same and back him if installed, because there ain't no pot of gold down at Valley Parade to secure the services of a top level manager and his backroom staff.

 

I can't say if Bowyer is the best for the job - But who is ?
Bowyer has proved he is 'tolerant' and yet also successful - In a limited capacity.
Should WE give him a chance ? It's not for US to say, but he's better equipped than most to deal with Citys situation.

 

There is only one thing that will get our club pulling together IMO, and that is a strong manager, even though we as fans will have our own candidates as you say our next appointment is possibley the most crucial we have ever made.

 

Just because Bowyer did it at Blackpool it doesn’t mean he will here. Managers all over the country have had one season wonders at one club or another. I want a young ex player to come in as coach who gains the respect of the players. Somebody who has played st the top level. Had enough of the dinosaur managers. Which changes my mind over Parky returning.

 

No guarantees as with everything in life not just football management.

Regardless of who takes over the reins there will always be doubters and criticism that's the nature of the beast.

Honestly, I have absolutely no idea of what manager we need. We have so many different and varied problems it is difficult to fill bill. If we go short term, that might damage for long term success, if we go long term, we might get relegated. I like the idea of a young hungry manager. IF Drury can get them going, I would say leave it till the summer. Next couple of matches, one of them today will tell us whether he has made a start, relying on those that go today (hero’s every one of them) to give us an accurate report. If we lose today, then we will just have to bring in a new manager.

If there are players who have not taken to Hopkin, now is the time to prove they are up for a fight, and make sure they come back with the 3 points. If that doesn’t happen I can only assume that no matter which manager we bring in will not make a difference and we will have to sort the wheat from the chaff in the summer.

 

In my opinion short term with a review in the summer.
Pivitol point with out doubt to any negotiations will be keeping our League One status intact without it we will definitely struggle financially should we go down.

 

Id think a young ex-player would get very little respect from certain players we presently have, so for that reason Id rule a novice out.
Id have said yes when Parky left because he left us with a good ethos within our club and with regards the playing squad, if someone like Hopkin who I classed as a hard manager with regards (sorting problem payers out) can't sort them out and get them playing I think it could have the wrong effect on a young ex-pro player, Oldham and Paul Scholes will be an intersting one, over the years the best top profesionals have not made it in football management, Nobby Stiles, Bobby Charlton, John Barnes, Maradonna, Gary Neville, Alan Shearer.the list is endles.
