Absolute nonsense.
"I think we should be congratulating them for such a seismic turnaround in performance and result. The way the team performed in both games was astonishing."
Seriously are you taking the piss?
1 week of OK performances against sub standard opposition compared to months, no years of regression. Playing to high standards (or is it astonishing?) ... Flipping eck how bloody short sighted? Have you forgotten about Newport, Barrow, Walsall, Harrogate, Colchester etc. Would you like to thank the management and players for their dispirited, disjointed performances in these games?
We are 15th in the league with a disjointed squad, IMO incapable of a sustained promotion push. McCall has won 5 in 16 league games (or whatever), we have a CEO who wants out, an owner in name but what else and you come out with, what a difference a week makes.
No 2016...rupp came along with Rahic and TOGETHER, they took this football club backwards over the years. Yet one bloody week of results against Southend and Tonbridge, and we get nonsense posts like this.
I hope this is a renaissance but I don't identify what has changed significantly to arrest our decline. One swallow doesn't make a summer....
Short sighted and fickle post that dose not represent the reality that is Bradford City. Give me a dozen or so games of continuity, progression, positive performance, endeavour and application and I may see the seedlings of growth and change and buy into some of your massively over exuberant post.
Nonsense.

It is a usual trait for people to be hyper critical. Go on websites like Sainsbury’s groceries (where they let people rate a product, unlike a lot of other supermarket chains) and the reviews often include negative responses.
Personally I thoroughly enjoyed the two games the OP referred to, however to try and suggest that there had been a ‘seismic’ positive change, seems very premature, to say the very least.
Personally I want better football ‘dished up’ by my team, on a consistent basis.
I want my team to achieve success. I find it hard when clubs like Accrington, Rochdale, Crewe, Lincoln, Peterborough, Gillingham, Northampton, Wimbledon and Burton are playing at a higher level. I don’t know all their individual circumstances, but I would be very surprised if they all had ‘loads of money’.
What I have, is ambition. I hope to see my club reaching the Championship again. I don’t think that is an unreasonable aim.
Some of the criticism is in my mind ‘over the top’, however if my club underperforms, then I feel that I have the right to say so.
A club like Bradford City, should not be in the bottom half of the fourth tier of English Football.
Surely we have the right to question the current situation, rather than just accept it. You say ‘We are a basement club with has been and never will be players, you get what you pay for’. Well sorry but I want more. Given that the EFL has introduced a salary cap and restrictions on the squad size, then clubs are on a more equal footing and I expect better than what we have so far produced.Petrov, Rogered Tart, How and 6 others like this. -
Might as well send the season ticket back and call it day.
I thought this was a fans forum of supporters of the club!!!
All I ever read on here is crap about poor management, lack of ambition. We are a basement club with has been and never will be players, you get what you pay for. You need to build a team, remember Parky taking a couple of seasons.
I remember in my youth when I had the choice of watching Man U, Leeds or City. I wanted to support a local club, all my mates were Leeds fans, but all they ever did was moan about the team, even when they won.
Having played football for a City supporters club and watching games home and away, playing games against away supporters, we used to have a laugh win or lose. A much more enjoyable atmosphere than the constant moaning.
if your not enjoying what’s dished up call it a draw and watch a more sexy team with loads of money and ambition.
We had a couple of glory years in a league we couldn’t afford. Then an almighty fall down the league.
Me personally, missing the away games, a good weekend away spoilt by football.
That’s something to moan about no live football and a few beers with nights out in different towns.Angryangryian, XCIV_Bantam, Gateway38 and 4 others like this. -

Wasn't exactly a high bar now was it? Southend were dreadful and Tonbridge amateur. We've a lot more to prove.

Just take a look at our next 5 league games and you can see it’s not all rosy yet.
Double figures points from our next 5 would be a real sign and statement McCall has sorted it out. I can’t see it however and I think come the end of November we will be back to how we felt a week agoThe Evidence, Rogered Tart, Rcbantam and 1 other person like this. -
Two decent results agasint one team in complete and utter meltdown and the other against a team of part timers. We have been woeful this season.
We saw the exact same thing against Mansfield. Everyone got ahead of themselves and we went on to not win any of the next 5. I didnt see anything from the Southend or Tonbridge performances to make me think we will go on any kind of unbeaten run or that we have turned some kind of corner. We will win a few and we will lose a few. Thats where this squad is at. Inconsistent and lacking quality in certain key areas.
I dont think we will beat Exeter wat the weekend but ill gladly let the players prove me wrong. The Evidence, Rogered Tart and bantamdave41 like this. -

It simply is another illustration of the low base of expectations amongst some of our support base. Really puzzles me.
Nonsense nonetheless. The Evidence and Rcbantam like this. -
Yes in a few weeks time we could all be moaning about our form/weaknesses. On the the other hand these two games could have been the right opposition at the right time giving us a bit of a boost when we needed it. Confidence breeds confidence.
As for Billy Clarke yes he is looking fit (physically! I was never confused).
There is a lot of rubbish peddled around about Billy Clarke. He hasn't got loads of pace, he never has. Having said that he is a very good footballer who finds pockets of space and makes things happen, we just need to keep him fit. If he had pace to go with his footballing ability he would be playing League One of even Championship level. -

The past week has shown if our midfield is allowed time and space, they're good enough to beat the opposition.
We had no issues with either Southend or Tonbridge.
The problem is, we're not often afforded that kind of time and space, and aside from FGR, haven't deserved to beat anyone outside the bottom three/four. Everybody points to needing a midfield hardman - someone who could win battles and give our creative midfielders more of the ball in more space. We haven't got that, and when we've been pressed by the opposition, we've been giving the ball away at an alarming rate in some games.
That hasn't been addressed; nor has the obvious, glaring issue up front. The striker situation isn't good enough, and never was. I'm not anticipating that we've turned the corner, but I'm very confident that we beat inferior sides. This doesn't feel like a side that's going to be slipping on banana skins any time soon.XCIV_Bantam and 1975citygent like this. -

@Bigrod is right. I want my team to win. I want my team to win consistently. I want my team in the Championship. There's nothing wrong with that and constructive criticism of the club is appropriate and warranted after the last few years.bantam2708 and Interested Bystander like this. -
