Got to be realistic Fordy, if the freezing rain hits there will be a major safety issue, I'm based in Wrose, been out for an hour this morning, its dry but bloody cold. I hope we play and get 3 points, I can walk to the game, many others can't.

Bit chilly here today. Not walking anywhere, will take the car. Winter tyres and a country geared up for snow is a wonderful thing!

But yeah, it's funny seeing the UK grind to a halt whenever a few snowflakes appear, but you guys just aren't prepared for it, so it's to be expected. There's places in Sweden and Norway that even have heated pavements! As I said, winter tyres (required here by law from Nov-March) really do make a huge difference. I was over in Bradford a few years back, and took the hire car out in the snow without thinking, and slid all over the place.
Listening to the guys on the radio now, you would think the game was taking place in the North Pole. Wishing everyone safe afternoons and recommending hot chocolate and blanketsRiver_City_Bantam and bantamdave41 like this. -

My biggest problem was getting from the car to my house after the game, the path was just an ice rink.

Latest! Forget snow accumulations worry about rare freezing rain phenomena
“Amber warning, which will last from 10am on Saturday until 6am on Sunday, warns of freezing rain which will cause widespread ice.
The Met Office said: "Freezing rain is expected to result in the rapid development of widespread ice, with very dangerous travelling conditions likely."
It said injuries from slipping and danger to life on icy surfaces are likely, and pavements and cycle paths are likely to become "instantly impassable because of the sudden formation of black ice".
Also
“Freezing rain is rare in the United Kingdom but when it does occur the impacts can be very severe. This is due to the fact that it can form very quickly, it can be difficult to see and is incredibly slippery.
"Some sleet and snow is possible over the very highest ground and the freezing rain may also be followed by a spell of sleet and snow as the precipitation clears from the west.
"The freezing rain and sleet and snow will be accompanied by strong southeasterly winds which will pose an additional hazard to travel, in particular over high ground."
