You don't have a watch?

 

Mate of mine doesn't. Says what's the point in having a watch, when the time is on your phone. I tried telling him that it's a traditional method of telling the time, plus also acts as an accessory to your outfit, and in some cases can be a sign of wealth, but he wasn't having any of it. Weird.

 

The watch is the first thing I put on getting dressed in a morning. Would feel weird without one.

Love a good smart watch and have a nice collection.

My watch cost £10 from Amazon.Sort of sums up my wealth.

 

I've never understood the attraction of divers watches and big chronometers with bezels and knobs everywhere. Unless you have giant wrists they usually look too big and I would find it weird wearing a divers watch when I don't dive.
I've recently got into collecting vintage dress watches from the 50s, 60s & 70s, which I find much more aesthetically appealing and which are far more versatile to swap about to match different clothes. I do have a '62 Omega Seamaster, which, as the name suggests, was part of a range intended as an underwater watch, but it's a very chic and understated dress watch, in style, not all big and blingy like modern giant Seamasters.

I've not worn a watch since I retired 14 years ago.

 

I'm in the camp of never wearing a watch. I used to a couple of cheap time pieces when I was a young lad but always lost them as they used to irritate me. I don't wear anything on my arms or round my neck such as Jewellery for the same reason.

 

Doesn't that piss the divers off when you collect their watches?

 

Rolex, IWC then we are talking my kind of watches! Starting to come down in price now though.
