I might nip and wash my own seat. Not doing the blokes in front of me though.He’s a right opinionated so and so.

The tasks of juniors have always been far reaching, cleaning stadium as mentioned, shovelling the snow off the pitch, cleaning a senior pro's boots.

They're all too bleeding pandered to the these days

 

Seriously? Our multi millionaire owner can't fork out a few quid to get a contract cleaning firm in?
What next? A supporters rota to wash the first team match day kit?

 

Just claimed my 1500 loyalty points for the 35 seats I washed.

Next they'll be asking fans for cash to buy not so big screens for scoreboards or doing up the dressing rooms, imagine that

 

Of course not, Valley Parade is a privately owned premises on a commercial lease to a private company.

Community payback is about work within the community, not for private firms.

The supermarkets would have them cleaning shelves if that was the case.

Think more:

• Charity work
• Removal of graffiti
• Renovating derelict areas
• Clearing wasteland
• Decorating public places
• Litter picking

Things actually in the community that aren't for the benefit of privately owned businesses, who would all want free labour if they could get it.

 

Whoever of you who is privileged enough to clean my seat in the Midland stand, please do remember to make sure the job is done properly. With due appreciation, elbow grease and approved cleaning products. Unfortunately I cannot join you all on this occasion. By the way I think this is an excellent initiative, and looking forward to my free shoe shine at half time.

 

I’m sure some fans might want to help out, not for me though. Saying that, I won’t knock the club for asking, it’s not compulsory.

 

Think you'll find Academy lads have not done this kind of work for several years now. The football authorities stopped it to change the balance so it's more training and classroom.
By the way I counted around 20 washing seats today

I remember a winter mid 70s I guess when the club issued an appeal for helpers to clear snow off the pitch pre referee inspection being keen in those days our usual group turned up armed with shovels to join about 20 others sure enough we cleared the pitch and were asked to remain till the ref passed it fit to play
We were then ushered out of the ground with a "thanks," only to have to pay to re enter and watch the match
