No Match thread on this game yet, so thought id start with a team prediction. This is a game we should be winning if we have aspirations of promotion this season. Walsall have only won one game this season, and that was an opening day victory against Northampton. They have scored just one goal whilst conceding 7 in the last 5 games, so with our seemingly solid defense, i cant see them scoring. Solid win for city. Walsall 0 - City 3.

    O Donnel

    Mellor - Paudie - BRE - Wood
    Connely - Palmer - Cooke - Pritchard
    Vaughan - Donaldson

Best team we can put out at the minute but hard lines on AOC been brilliant this year so far good option to have as back up if POC is now first choice. Hopefully last weeks turnaround is the kick start for the season. Need to get out of the traps early doors against a team low in confidence. An early goal could kill them off before the game has even settled.

    Tight game.
2-1 defeat if we play how we have away from home so far this season.
If we are at it the whole game and allowed to attack then anything is possible.

As above the only change needs to be Cooke for Devine. Hopefully we can start to get some consistency in the side, as Bowyer stated last week in the paper he’s done with tinkering. I think the results and performances will start to come if we keep a settled side.

    2-0 in our favour.

I'd go with that one as well, shame Zeli is unavailable. We need to start fast and get after them right from the off, get them on the back foot.

Anybody know how many tickets we've sold?

In my head, Walsall games are usually rather uninspired.

    I'll plump for 0-0.

Think the team suggested will be the one.

And the 3 3 draw at their place the year before.

Was thinking exactly the same :joy::joy::joy: Up there with Connor Wood not being a left back comment.

    We shall see :)

And Connor Wood is a much better midfielder than a defender.

I'll be disappointed if we don't win. No game is a gimme but a great time to play them with their current form. Think it would be two points dropped no matter the manner of the performance. Would be great to build on from last week and start gaining some momentum and consistency.

Still have nightmares about that game. If we are 3 nil up at half time on Saturday, I might have an anxiety attack.

Just had a read of their forum, new manager who keeps tinkering with the formation, too defensively set up, no attacking threat, lack of confidence........lots of new players, it’s like a mirror of on here but without the looney “we’re too big to play in the dog and duck league” fringe!!
The consensus seems to be a point would be a good result at home to us, would love GB to throw the kitchen sink at them, play to our strengths, bully them off the park, however we will probably set up to cancel them out, let in a soft goal in the first five mins and help lift their confidence for the rest of the season!!

Don't think Walsall fans will agree with that. We usually thump them at home but think we owe the one at their place.

2 weeks ago, I would have agreed with you but think we now have the team balance for GB to go for it.

I agree with the OP’s team with the exception of Paudie. I think I’d go with AOC. I thought him and BRE looked like a solid partnership and he’s the best ball playing CB of the 3 and as GB likes us to play out from the back I think he is the better option.

Just over 400 at close last night but your comment is a useful reminder to those travelling.
I'm sure the Club may make a formal comment but can I use your post to remind all City fans that this fixture last season was the second of three games where we ended up under investigation by the F.A. after smoke bombs and a pitch incursion. The others being Rochdale(A) and Posh (H).
Like everyone on here I'm looking for a win on Saturday but PLEASE temper your enthusiasm and contain it on the terraces with no pyrotechnics or smoke. Our voices do far more for the lads than bad behaviour which is a distraction.
Enjoy the game, those who travel, and thanks in advance from me, I do get fed up writing to the F.A. to defend the indefensible some times.

Fair comment @wetherbywhaler but I think twitter, facebook or Instagram is more in line where these idiots post.

Maybe you need to pass that information on to the club if you know names.
