A cheeky bid , depending on his contract situation?

He is highly regarded at Huddersfield and will probably be required for their 1st team squad when they return to League One.
To quote my Terrier supporting friend, their other centre halves are old and slow or just slow, the best of them having been largely absent due to injury.

Just looking at the goals they conceded yesterday,it’s no surprise they are at the bottom.
    The defending was woeful.

Agree, we looked leggy yesterday. Squad will be a huge factor in the next few weeks. As I see it right now there are 7 nailed on starters if fit:
    Lewis
    Halliday
    Stubbs
    Ridealgh
    Clayton
    Walker
    Cook

Add to that probably another 2 who are likely to play if fit, meaning there’s likely only to be 2-3 changes at max from the starting XI. Cannot see much beyond a back 4 and 3 in front purely down to the influence Stubbs and Clayton have had in recent games, so the changes feel like they are more one of the CM and how Hughes decides to set-up up front alongside Cook.

For what it’s worth I see more of the changes coming from the bench like yesterday, with a possible 1-2 changes to the starting XI on Tuesday (barring all are fit).

I think the gap in the squad for an attacking midfielder to be able to cover for Walker is noticeable. Banks, Chapman, Pereira(remember him) and Nevers (not really seen), don't have the same skill sets and don't seem to have the anchor ability, that Walker does.

Isn't Walker suspended now on 5 yellow cards? If so I can see us going 352 with possibly Banks Osadebe and Crichlow starting. Looked tired slow and cumbersome for most of the game yesterday so can see it being refreshed.

Only applicable if players amass 5 yellows in the first half of the season. To be suspended in the second part of the season, they have to accrue 10 yellows.

    Something like that, anyway.

Chappy and Banks in short bursts not 90 imho.

I like the ploy yesterday, take off tired legs , and bring on fresh ones en bloc , especially technical ones for the last third of the game. It worked a treat.

Anyone getting 20 bookings in a season isn’t just bad luck.

For me Smallwood shouldn’t start at home. He didn’t look happy coming off to be fair.

It's funny how the fixtures work out...

We play Walsall on Tuesday and if we win we go level on points with Stevenage and Stevenage are then at home, on Saturday, to... Walsall!

Please don’t jump on that shite stirring comment and supposition that Parader started last night. It was proven to be all QAnon b/s. and debunked as totally inaccurate.

Your point about him playing home and away is of course relevant but not conspiracy theory rubbish Fordy.

Honestly, not got a bloody clue what you are talking about.

From my eyes he didn’t look happy coming off. That is it. He won’t be the first and he won’t be the last.

Oh stop it Fordy. Being subbed is deflating, he probably needed a few minutes on his own to reflect, plus a change in clothes. Players are human beings and reacts like most of us.

I personally think all players being subbed should look slightly pissed off.

Even more so if you are captain.

But there’s a big difference between a player being annoyed and then trying to turn it into something else.

Totally agree I’d feel more uncomfortable if players were happy coming off when we were drawing or losing to a team we should be beating. Players become footballers to play not get splinters in their behinds.
