That's what I was hoping for, especially given Cook's recent form (and my prediction-league prediction). A slightly, perhaps only very slightly, different angle of head to ball and we'd have had that goal, instead of the bar.

I suppose that's the frustrating/exasperating element in this side: we are close to being the real thing, but just a little bit off.

Yeah, we lack a bit of finesse.

Tyreik was the man giving us that, and while Costelloe works hard, he's not on the same level.

It's annoying because if we had that little something extra to give us an edge in those razor thin games, we'd be up there with Orient IMO.

But it's hard to criticise when we're still good enough for third - getting there is the hard part, though.

 

There is only Sutton in top 10 that have amassed more points than us in the last 6 games. Another point to add to the total, 13 obtained, move onto the next game.

Defended well against a team who just lumped it long all game.

I agree, he does go totally unrecognised, his stats regarding goals and assists back that up.

 

This isnt a good team. Its struggling for promotion in an appalling league, its had one of the biggest budgets in recent years thrown at it, got over 30 senior pros signed up and has a manager with PL experience.

With all that backing it up - a good team would be walking this division. This team has been abysmal at home this season and put in some shocking performances more often than that. It grinds out results - i will give you that.

When its all said and done, I think we go up but thats more about the lack of quality in this league.

Far too many games this season we have had 0 or 1 shot on target.

The majority accept at this stage of the season it's the result rather than the performance, it wasn't a great watch but another game unbeaten and another clean sheet, we know we're not full of goals so why do a few of our fans believe we're going to turn every opposition team over winning 2/3 - 0, Walsall looked solid at the back and Knowles was possibly their best player on the night, far from disappointed with the result.

 

LOL!! So if we do it, we can all look forward to more of your grumpy posts telling us it was only because, for the first time ever, the league was poor.

I don't remember it been particularly better last season. If you read the views of Mansfield and Northampton fans they'll state that their squads have improved - but strangely, given how "shite" this league is only this season, find themselves in the same position as last season.

I'll keep telling you, until you get it. D4 has always been a shite league!!!!

25 points from 13, including away trips to the, then on form, Wimbledon plus Stockport, Stevenage, Doncaster Gillingham (only defeat in ages is to us and Mansfield) plus now Walsall is fine.

I'll take a point against Newport if we can then win our next two at home.

 

For me all that matters is that City go up, i don't care if they have 1/2 a shot on target per game just get promoted, that will do for me. I don't care if they wear ballerina outfits and and have 1 shot on goal, it does not matter just keep winning.

 

We are currently 2 points off autos, unbeaten away since boxing day I.E this year, unbeaten in 4 and lost once in our last 10 and seriously thats the take you want to go for?
