Couldn't agree less.
I, for one, have never asked for an owner that throws money at the club. I've never asked for a massive money signing or to bring players in on enormous wages. In fact, I've not heard many people ask for that, although I've seen people kind of imply that a big signing now could do wonders for morale - which is hard to argue against.
What I think everybody is pissed off about is the sheer damn incompetence.
DON'T promise us a promotion push if we're going to be struggling to bring in quality forwards.
ONLY promise us a promotion push if we know we can acquire the targets we want and assemble the squad we need.
DON'T hire Derek Adams and assume that's a promotion in the bag because he can work to a budget.
ONLY start whalloping on about promotion if Derek has all the tools he needs to achieve promotion, especially to a budget. Clearly that's not the case, or we wouldn't have sacked the head of recruitment.
DON'T talk about how we're going to develop, promote, and base our entire business model around the sale of young players.
ONLY do that if you're then going to bring in a manager that shares that ethos.
These are not expensive things. They're absolute bloody basics. We could write a club manifesto in about three sentences that rules out these stupid, incompetent idiocies, and yet the club have failed on all these - and many more - counts since Ryan Sparks was made CEO - LET ALONE since Stefan Rupp bought the club.
But perhaps more important than all that - DON'T talk about being a proud custodian of this football club if you've no interest in ensuring the best possible people are put in the most important positions to ensure we actually move forward after you, yourself have taken us backwards.
Stefan Rupp, I don't want your money. I want to see your remotely competent as the owner of a football club, one that can restore us to the top of League One, and who can attack the Championship like you were SUPPOSED to do.
That is all.

I also listened to Gary Jones comments.
The defeat was poor, but it was the manner of the defeat, which hurt the most.
If the players clearly gave their ‘all’, then it would soften the blow, but the combination of personalities (or lack of them), seems to be one factor.
I recall that Parkinson placed a lot on the personality of players, their mental toughness, their ability to relate to others.
This lot seem to be a set of individuals who ‘go through the motions’, rather than ‘go the extra mile’.

When it comes to money, teams like morecambe and cambridge showed its not everything at this level.
said this before, but success in league two is about getting team that fights for the manager, is fit, organised and knows their job - attitudes a good manager instills in his team.
so why has Derek been unable to do it here?
he’s been very critical of the players and questioned their ability and attitude - calling them out for not having a winning mentality.
players could prove him wrong or hide, but now he’s destroyed the dressing room morale - vernam confirming as much the other day saying the squad isn’t together. Adams’ cold personality is not ideal for fostering relationships too given he readily chucks others under the bus.
from here you either clear the bad eggs from the dressing room and sign plenty in jan (wont happen as money isn’t available to bring in the four we need) or you fire Adams and bring in a new manager who hasnt destroyed the players’ confidence and trust. Alternatively, you can’t afford to sack Adams and see out a painful five months of seeing him try work with a disinterested group, then turn over the squad in the summer.

I voted no. I’ve no confidence in anyone at Bradford City nowadays.
On a lighter note my Dad got me a Valley Parade Street sign, thinking of putting it on the front of my house. Let’s hope the many Leeds United fans in Belfast don’t egg my house ahahahahaAttached Files:

He is lacking every bit as much as our beleaguered playing staff

I think any player or managerial staff that were here when Edin was here should leave. Get rid of them and their inability to build a fun and compelling work environment. We cant blame the players completely or the managers we have had as theres far too many examples of quality turned dross and backwards momentum. It cannot be coincidence can it?
We had jack payne and butterfield in L1 alongside talented players and ever since that season we have looked laboured. Its painful to watch and its dragging on like the pandemic but this is totally avoidable.
The players will play when the culture and working environment are on point. That then feeds into the crowd and the backroom staff. Everyone is in it together. When was the last time it felt like that at city?
Sparks, Odonnel, mick in commercials, whoever else was there when Edin chewed us up and shat us out should get on their bikes.
Bloody Dom Poleon, BRE, gibson and Patrick goading us fans was the last straw. As though we are to blame for paying their wages and watching them fail each week. Sparks and crew just dont feel the same pain as us, he hasnt got the edge we need and the other hangers on need to do whats right and leave.Stevay_b, vladimir, How and 1 other person like this. -

True, but after Sparks 'we will fight them on the beaches' pre season speeches you can't just disappear. I think it was a sensible move to take a step back from the toxic platform that is twitter but not to vanish totally when reassurance is vital right now and needed more than ever

Most of our fans need to get out of the clouds.
We will not get an owner that will through money at us. It’s going to take time and Ryan and Derek will do a good job.
As a large club in a poor league we have too many overheads and it puts us at a disadvantage.
Unfortunately small steps is all we can do, Derek has proved he can get teams promoted on a small budget but he needs more time. It’s as simple as that.Rudie and 1975citygent like this. -
