The only logical explanation I can think of is that Doyle and Vaughan were disrupting the atmosphere in the dressing room.

inclined to think the same, neither are really working for me, Vaughan is overrated - pretty poor holding the ball up, getting too many bookings, and has an average goal return (with mitigating circumstances).

Things need a good shake up to have any hope, I expect to see minimum two stellar signings that will die for the cause at the very least.

 

Ahh it all makes sense - the extra training session and meetings with the players.

Vaughan and Doyle obviously did the smart thing and told tosspot manager to do one.
