Vaughan and Doyle gone

Suprised he said something along the lines of "the slump in form has coincided with Eoin Doyle's return" midway through. Looks like he is defo heading out of the door if the PR bloke is saying that.

 

Slump in form has coincided with Doyles return...? He was back for about 2 games?

I agree, but I cannot see how this would not have been approved by JR and SR and GB. He is the PR man and a more pragmatic statement on our form might have been to refer to injuries, having an impact on the team, consistency etc., rather than throwing Doyle under a bus, we all knew he didn’t want to be here ,so the extra 10% we expect from players at this stage of the season was never going to happen.

Not saying we don't have better options than Devine and Anderson but as a player you want to play football and you will believe you should be playing will bang on the managers door to find out why.

Danny Devine isn't even making the squad when he was before. Do you expect him to be happy with that?

Mentioned it in the other thread. Diabolical from Sparks. Real dirty trick. Not on at all. Is that where we are as a club at the moment? What a mess this club is. Just vile from top to bottom.

 

Recalling Doyle seemed like a good idea to force Swindon to come up with the money to buy him, but as he hasn't scored and as a lot of people say has disrupted the team is the boot not on the other foot now as we need to get rid of him. No point in paying his high wages not to play him.

 

I'd suggest he's doing the job he's paid for

 

Yes well rather that than throwing our own player under a bus! Other players we might want to recruit may not want to come here if players are not protected! Just a thought. As far I could see he behaved professionally on field. GB was singing his praises when came back and said he was being a really good professional. Eion made a massive mistake when he announced to the world that he would rather stay with Swindon. It annoyed all of us, but there is no need to behave in a similar manner. It just looks tacky tbh.

 

Why wouldn't we play Doyle if he was still here?

 

Yep. The thing is, Doyle hasn't shirked since he's come back. he's tried, in a poorly performing side, and it just hasn't happened. I don't know if he's been sulking in training and having meetings with the club saying he wants out, but from what he's shown on the pitch he does seem to have been professional about things, so Im surprised with Sparks' comments.

 

Well it's a difficult one because I feel Doyle and Donaldson would make a good partnership.

With Vaughan not happy with Bowyer he then Doyle would of started.

The money doesn't matter to me as I don't own the club but see no point in getting in a Grigg for example for a short term fix.

At this moment Vaughan wants out, Doyle out and Donaldson out at the end of the season.

We need to be planning ahead but find a player that can play along side Donaldson, play up top on his own with pace and wants to be here short & long term.

 

Have they actually gone yet?

 

There has been nothing on either Tranmere or Swindon's Twitter pages and I'd expect the news will be broken on there before anywhere else? Tranmere have a game tonight against Sunderland, maybe Sunderland have told us we can have Grigg if we delayed letting Vaughan out to Tranmere. The deadline for him to be eligible for tonights game, against his old club, was noon yesterday I think......or maybe with us having a game last night, and Swindon having one too, they still had medicals to complete and that was the reason for the delay with Doyle's deal? Looks like both are happening anyway.

We would only be able to make a move for Grigg (thats if we can afford him at all) once Doyle and Vaughan have been signed off?

I said :Yes I would expect players who aren't getting starts might be knocking on Bowyer's door that suggests to me they are still wanting to be a part of the team, nothing wrong with that.

Are we gonna have to wait for them both to sign on the dotted line elsewhere before we make our moves? If so we are gonna end up with a billy Clarke type signing only on deadline day aren’t we?
