Update

I said earlier a rise in ticket prices in line with inflation over the last 4 / 5 years would in my opinion have been a viable option. We could have increased the player budget without having a major impact on supporters budgets. We may have missed the bus with this though.

 

But we sold close to 19,000 last season and the budget was still reduced...even after getting to Wembley...what does that say to people......oh we're not serious about promotion......and we're not serious again because we want a Head Coach who has long term player development at the heart....these owners are not taking us forward at all....backwards

Option B all day long. In addition to buying my season ticket, I’ve opted in to buy the top level membership, purely out of blind loyalty and to help the club generate as much revenue as it can. I for one would be happy to pay £250 for my ticket alone if I thought it’d give us a top 6 budget but appreciate not all will feel the same.

It’s the chicken and egg analogy, from this start point, we either start with 2/3 of the support we had last season with a mid table budget and simply hope we have a successful season to bring the supporters back through the gates, or next season, we raise prices significantly, which may reduce the amount of season ticket holders, to hopefully get a more competitive budget, to hopefully increase the chances of success, which will then bring more supporters back through the gates.

What really pisses me off is how we’d actually achieved success and built a decent team / squad under PP and the previous owners. We had momentum, had seen the success which had seen interest and support for the club reach fantastic levels. The squad simply needed tweaking, tying down the assets longer term and adding a bit more quality to it. A really great platform to start from. Yet sadly, the decimation of the squad, the idea of implementing of a model (which is largely redundant in L1 which many see as being unnecessary) has seen the club undo all of the good work that had gone before and now we’re effectively back to square one. It’s understandable why so many have lost faith and have not renewed. The new owners have a hell of a job on their hands now to get us back to where we were!

 

Inflation is 2% you planning to pit them up by £3 a year

 

It’s clear these owners want to buy cheap, develop and sell on for profit whilst taking dividends off the profits.

That won’t work in football, if it did Peterborough would be in the champions league.

 

That WOULD know make them £15 more would it not ?.

 

Bastards have ripped us off by £5.
They best get that bid in for Harry kane now.

 

I see Halifax have done something similar to option B. Increased season tickets to £340 to fund going full time and having a crack at a top half finish.

Great to see a local club showing some ambition.

 

With top 7 getting into the play-offs and Tranmere gone, it's as good a time as any for them.

 

3% per annum on each year would have produced a £15 at least increase over 3 years . This is what i was alluding to . This in my opinion would have been a viable option .

 

Perhaps a viable alternative could have been asking supporters which they would prefer:

A) £169 season tickets. Affordable football for all with a mediocre player budget.

B) £349 season tickets with a top 6 player budget, and all of the membership stuff, cup tickets etc thrown in.

Whichever got the highest vote becomes the season ticket price.

 

They've just put them up by £20 though?

Doesn't matter who it is if the present owner say the club is not up for sale it's irrelevant, at the present time they would be lucky to get their investment back.

 

Yeah that’s exactly right, unless they sell wyke for £5mill which won’t happen , he will end up leaving and going to bellend road on a free.
