Labour has become so utterly consumed by the identity politics ideology that its eating itself - which I always thought would happen and probably needs to happen so we can move past it. But it is sad. I'm generally a conservative voter, but an appallingly bad Labour enables the situation we're in, which is an appallingly bad Conservative party. We need 2 strong parties to hold each other to account and who run on the basis of what people genuinely care about and not whether its 'wrong' to say 'only women have a cervix'. FFS - no wonder the West is being left behind and our society is breaking down. China and Russia must be wetting themselves.

I quite enjoyed Kier's speech at the conference even if it was a bit long. The hecklers from the Corbyn supporters probably helped him overall.

To add, this country will not accept a government based on loony left policies. Blair understood this, Starmer understands this, it seems the loony left side of Labour don't. They really are that stupid. The minority led by the likes Jones and Bastani think their student union type of politics will somehow get to power when all it will do is to continually hand power back to the not fit for purpose Tories.

When Labour decides to shrug off the woke madness, identity politics and stops seeking to be popular with what they think is the majority, and take the time to understand and represent what matters most to the working classes of this country, they might actually become more popular.

When they do they will win any election against the bumbling fecking oaf that is Johnson. Fraud on a massive scale with the PPE scandal, just one example Michele Mone and her ties to the Torys got her 'mates' £200 million pounds worth of contracts. Infact I'm listening to the absolute fool in PMQs now. The bloke just sees politics and life as one big pantomime performance. And then I see what he's done with HS2 and 3 and the deliberate lack of investment in the North of England. This country is an absolute and shambles and there isn't anything you or I can do about it.

Starmer currently landing blow after blow on Johnson at PMQs. And yet still this disgrace of a prime minister refuses to resign. The man shouldn't just resign, he should be arrested and charged with offences like he had his police forces do throughout this coivid pandemic.

Trying to cover his arse with a pointless enquiry sums the joker up. Not even bothered about who gets the gig next or which party were in charge, this idiot has to go. He really is a horrible human being, everything about him.

From what I made from PMQs it's that Boris's defence is he was there but he didn't realise it was a party and looking back he wish his he had sent them home and he is sorry for not doing so.

That's pretty much his defence isn't it?

Also the wait for the enquiry to complete is blatantly kicking the can down the road to buy some more time without any shame.

He isn't sorry for the party, he is sorry he got caught.

It wasn't even the Cabinet Secretary who sent out the BYOB email. It was Johnson's own Principal Private Secretary, Martin Reynolds. It does't get much closer to the PM in No 10 than that. We'll have to wait and see whether he is next to be pushed under the bus by the PM!

ps You know you've been to a good party when you have to order an inquiry into whether the party happened or not ;)

I think the Tories want him out more than anyone, he’s got more chance of losing them the next GE than Labour have of winning it. Trouble is it’s like who wants to hold the grenade with the shit the countries in. From a Tory point of view best thing is to wait until Covid cases come down and then force him out. Summer time would be my guess at a new PM.

Just turned on BBC to see Kier getting tied in knots and doing a better job of defending the government than any Tory MP has done :joy:

Whatever you think of Starmer or his politics, this is down to Johnson pedling rubbish about Starmer regarding Jimmy Saville.

The morons who act like this don't care about the true and take it at face value when Johnson paints Starmer as being responsible for Jimmy Saville not being prosecuted.

    Shameful scenes.

Let's remind ourselves a MP was murdered barely a few months ago.

To be fair, an opposition can oppose ad infinitum when they are in a minority. When the measures carried out by the majority sitting government have proved to be not working, it seems reasonable to criticise.

So, Sunak attacks Starmer for opposing proposals that ultimately have failed.

And, by the way, they are asylum seekers, not illegal immigrants pending processing of their asylum claims. Ridiculous exaggeration to call this an "invasion".
