Huge loss, one of our only outlets. True pace is so scary at this level. Think back to both Salford and both Harrogate games, because he stays so high and so wide, it stretches defences that want shape.

Hope we are looking for a quick lad to replace him.

Aaaaaargh. Honestly don’t think we will see him in a City shirt again?

Bummer, I suppose a lot of us were hoping we might get a sneaky offer to sign him accepted, seems we were at least trying to. Well good luck to the lad, that’s football and we can’t hold it against him.

Big blow. They are on the verge of the Championship tbf - so fully understand his decision.

Banks is also too good for League 2 tbf, so there is our replacement.

    good look to Wright.

Big blow, but we'll overcome it.

For me, he's been our best player this season so far and it's far more of a blow him leaving, than say Vernam.

Talking of which, he's not starting for Lincoln having had injury problems. Back to us for a few months to get his fitness levels up??!!

Not convinced he's been played in his best position. But yes, he has been a disapppointment.

He can't play for anyone else and as Luton are unlikely to recall him - why would they given his form, he's ours as Hughes is not going to send him back, when he is a viable option.

Arguably, Walker could play the Wright role, but I think he'll be far better at the top of the diamond, i.e. attacking midfield.

So I'd like to see Pereira in that role - remember he scored his only very well taken goal in a similar manner to Wright did against Harrogate.

Let's not give up on him just yet.

It's not great news, but we do have other players. Pereira is suited to that role as well, plus of course we've got Walker and Banks to return eventually.

Whilst two of them are certainly good footballers at this level, none of them have Wright's pace. That's something we need desperately. Without that pace, the squad will be definitely weakened imo.

A big blow but it's the nature of the loan system; the player really excels and is moved up a division or two by the parent club Or, they fail to deliver and we're happy to send them back.
In this case Villa clearly don't see him in their long term plans and Plymouth have come calling with an offer we couldn't match. I do think Plymouth have taken a gamble because we all know that half a season of good performances doesn't equate to doing it season after season. We've seen that with Dion.
It's a shame but hopefully we can find a suitable replacement.

I wonder if Jake Young will get another chance? He has a bit of pace and scored a few decent goals early in the season. I never liked him out wide as his crossing was woeful but maybe through the middle as a striker with Oliver/Cook might suit him.

Problem for me is your building your team around him in that position and i don't think hes anywhere near good enough to be doing that. Good luck to the lad in the future but this loan spell has sent him backwards.

With Walker pretty much guaranteed a start when fit that means we can move Chapman out wide, with Banks on the other side. Wright is a big loss but its time for someone else to step up to the plate.

I'm not convinced either. But Rochdale would be a good game to see what he has. Or Young.

I'll be honest i'm not convinced by Young either but that doesn't mean they won't successful elsewhere here or anywhere else. i think Walker being back will get the best out of Chapman and Oliver has the game to link with them, Banks has shown he has ability and will more than likely take the position freed by Wrights departure. Throw Darbyshire into the mix and we have options even without Wright although i expect we have a target lined up.

I'm sure you mean best out player. Losing Harry Lewis would be more disappointing by a country mile.
