Ha ha up early today pal and full concentration on the day.

When I want to be serious I can be lol saw Park's post and thought this needs a detail response.

It would be great to hear from @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler views on why off the pitch this club hasn't take it seriously and why we still have no assets.

I think fans are understanding now that off the pitch is more important than on it.

We've wasted money throughout the years with nothing to show and now a club full of excuses.

What is the plan for the club moving forward?
What is Rupps vision for the club?
What investment is he going to make off the pitch?

I hear Rhodes is a nice bloke but to me his ideas are dated.

What's Rhodes vision for next season?

We need better direction from this club now! Too long we haven't progressed and it's time fans get their head round that those that invest off the pitch do well on it.

@wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler will know that also with Harrogate.

That's fair comment but lack of income means lack of wages paid out to players if youre aiming for self sufficiency. In theory it makes some sense, in practice it's a fine line between trying to stay debt free and losing support because of lack of investment. Fans are notoriously fickle, of they see a lack of ambition they will start to walk away which lessens your budget even more.

    Can't argue with that.
Once Rahics game was up the natural thing for Rupp to do was bring Julian back as Rupp knew how he and Mark had run our club on a shoestring, we as fans dont know what was said at the time of Julian's return, he's employed by Rupp so I would think with regards finance Rupp has to OK any out goings.
Unfortunatly IMO Rupp is treading water and keeping any investment at a minimum not very forward thinking for fans but I can understand his stance.
Although hes been quoted as saying the club is not for sale only a fool would continue putting money into something he has little interest in, at the moment in time anyone with money and an interest I purchasing a football club would be able to name their price.
He would be very foolish to turn down any offer around what he was quoted of paying for the club.
Even his statement with regards trying to put Rahics wrongs right there was no plan, or if there is he was not prepared to tell the fans, if looks like we will be one of the clubs who can start and complete next season and maybe at the present time the old saying is the best were going to get " we still have a club to support" ?.

One could argue he would be foolish to down any offer for the club, even if his losses are ‘just’ the £6m paid, unless the club becomes self supporting he’s presumably having to put more money in the post Covid era

You seemed to have forgetten about the £5mill loan we took out from an investment bank, Singer & Friedlander. That's what allowed us to strengthen the squad. But let's not let the facts get in the way of the myths.

That is very true is normal times. Fortunately we are in a slightly stronger position than most other lower league clubs who like us don't have a sugar daddy simply due to whatever is left of the McBurnie windfall. But then we're not in normal times.

This is where I disagree, I get a new reading complex is an asset the club would take onto consideration with regards the clubs value, we ho back to the question is our training facilities good enough even though we dont own them we shared with a school which costs £X per year would we be better getting finance to built our own training facilities or would that money be better spent on better players that we have.
I get that as the owner Rupp should/could finance both but I believe we realise now that will not be the case, I'm very much invest in the team bring sucsess to the club the rest takes care of itself.

I'm not sure that's the case Steve, without doubt Rupp will try and get his money back (assuming there are parties interested in buying the club) but as a hard nosed businessman he must realise it's about cutting his losses, he bought a club who were competing for a place In the Championship, certainly a top 8 league one side, what does he have now, a very poor league two club.
Who knows what's around the corner with regards sport, we hope there will be a return to some sort of normality going forward but there is no guarantee, so he could finish up this coming season with a football club to run with one of his biggest cash generators not investing, that could also l have a knock on long term with regards sponsorship, hospitality.
If someone came in with an offer giving him most of his original investment he'd be a fool not to take it and wash his hands of a very poor investment, and I'd be having a word with the third party that put him onto Edin f*****g Rahic, or will he stick to one of his original quotes when buying our club "my investment is worth the risk", I wish they had never set eyes on our club.

Me too it's been our biggest nightmare for many a long year
Have heard rumours that he had an offer but declined as "not enough" whether that's true or not I have no idea
Sh1t or get off the pot is a phrase that springs to mind
As a club we are stagnating and there will come a point when recovery is impossible and we will simply drift into oblivion An analogy is buying a car and not maintaining it eventually it will give out
Until things change at the top we are stuck, fan base will dwindle, sponsors will loose interest, we haven't been able to attract a decent player since Charlie Wyke and are supposed to be happy re signing Billy Clarke etc etc
It's a mess Dave goodness only knows where it will end Leadership comes from the top and that's non existent Our past chairmen going back to the 60s had little money but they were interested in the club I bet Mr Rupp would struggle to name 7 of our first team players
Fans are gradually begin to see the situation but are powerless apart from not renewing season tickets some blindly see nothing but good in the club they will have a very rude awakening !!!

Mate, people are now calling for Rhodes to leave on twitter. Fans are now waking up. Signing Billy Clarke isn't going to make the fans happy.

I 100% don't see the point of asking Ryan anything.

He thinks all we have to do is get rid of Rhodes and all will be well. In reality all that would happen would be a new CEO would be brought in with probably considerable less experience and we would continue on the same path

I get many fans frustrations but like it or not Julian is a paid employee, I doubt very much he will have the same day to day conversations with Rupp as he did with Mark.
Times were very different when he and Mark were owners, they were both big fans and I'm sure at times allowed Parky to do deals that would stretch the clubs finances such as bringing Andrew Davies to the club they realised it was not just a business it was a big part of both their lives and maybe at times that was a reason for saying yes to Parky, where as with Rupp it's all about profit & loss.
That's not a criticism of Rupp, but I'll bet you he's lost more sleep over "Team Rupp" than he has done over Bradford City, and what frustrated fans more is he must have known when he took over there was always a chance things might not progress as Rahic told him and to keep the club going forward extra finances may be required from the Rupp bank.

In your opinion how do we return to the "right path" ??
Like you I have invested a lot of time and more money than I care to calculate into the club
Things have to change from the top downwards quite how that happens I don't know
If JR can not turn our fortunes round then why not appoint someone else either as a replacement or work alongside him an extra wage I know but we found the wage for Billy Clarke
Things can always get worse (if fans could see a light at the end of the tunnel most would accept that) but with the right personnel things can also get better

I can see why people want Rhodes to leave, even if you ignore things like lack of progression on and off the field something which is very much in a CEOs remit there are arguably even bigger reasons to want him out.

He was the one desperate to get shut of the club, more or less forcing Mark Lawn into it. Even when he came back as a ‘favour’ it was only supposed to be temporary and we had another lined up before he got a better offer elsewhere. These aren’t the actions of someone who wants to be here, if he were a player the same people defending him would be saying get shut we don’t want someone who doesn’t want to play for the club. Rightfully so as well, we need people who see their futures here on and off the pitch, that very much includes those at the top. Until we get that we’ll stagnate and clubs who stagnate generally go backwards and create a poor viewing experience for the paying punter. I’m surprised anyone would want him or Rupp to stay tbh.

He sold because it’s was a bloody good offer and it was his financial management that got him and Lawn the offer they had. And if it wasn’t for the deal HE did for McBurnie we would be in a much worse position. We have had 2.5 poor years after 6 good years there is nothing to say we can’t start climbing the league again
