    Bolton are under an EFL wage embargo of 2K can't see ( cash cow) Doyle or Spearing taking a massive drop in wages to play in Lge 2.

    Yes , this will be in place for 2 seasons , so it's not all rosy at Bolton . And they brought in Evatt from Barrow because he worked with younger national league players , it seems a show of desperation to appoint Evatt after only 1 job in a managerial role , non of the Barrow squad lived there and they met up and trained in Manchester .

    Are you sure? Bolton were certainly subject to a two year transfer embargo when they went into Administration in 2018 which has now lapsed. Are they also subject to another transfer embargo since then?

    IMHO a lot of Lge 1 and 2 will be shopping at the sales in poundland for their players this year . Players and their agents are going to have to be realistic with their wage demands .

    They broke the rules again last year and failed to honour due wages . They are still in a lot of financial trouble .

    I know they did and their behaviour was outrageous in the way they dealt with the Doidge situation. There were also threats made to the club when they failed to pay players' salaries last year. But have they been the subject of a formal transfer embargo by the EFL?

    Sharron Brittan holds the key she is a major debtor of the club , she is currently on the board . Her hotel consortiums have been badly hit by the pandemic , they are certainly not out of the woods yet .

    I agree. Although for us, we need to make sure we're one of the first through the doors otherwise the good stock will be gone.

    I understand all of that and their financial position is more than likely questionable to say the least. But has the EFL slapped another formal transfer embargo on them or not? I've never seen anything from the EFL on this and they usually broadcast these things widely to other clubs and player and agents. But I may have missed it

    According to their forum the EFL embargo runs for another 2 seasons , i remember the original 1 , now whether this is the original or an added 1 i'm unsure of , but it certainly applies for the coming season . looking at it it's not a transfer embargo as such , it limits the amount of wages they can offer , so i suppose technically it will restrict their future dealings .

    He must have something lined up to reject new contract at Grimsby. If not, he is risking being out of work. Harrogate bound would be my guess

    Under the proposed salary cap I wonder how they will work out the allowance for the players we have under contract who’s combined wages will probably take us way beyond the limit
