TBH if Vaughan wants a move and is disruptive in the dressing room then it is best we get rid ASAP. No player is bigger than the club and if anyone is not fully 100% behind the manager and tactics then it is best for all concerned if they move on.

Lets see what the lad has to offer. Could be the next Josh Cullen, could be the next Joe Riley. Positive is he can't be any worse than Josh Wright or Hope Akpan

As much as I would have liked him here. I wouldn't have wanted to see us offer a 2 year contract to a player that turns 36 in January

The signings so far have been of a positive nature, young lads with a point to prove or experienced players that have resigned. But there is a lot of pressure of Cooke and Watt to make a big difference to what is essentiallythe same attack and defence as last year that struggled so badly. Some of this was due to a pathetic midfield and a terrible manager but doesn't gloss over this is largely the same team that was going backwards before lockdown. I think the key is Watt if he can do what Josh Cullen did then the others can raise their game accordingly. But its a big ask.

Maybe it's the devious cockney chancer mindset in me, but maybe Salford, Mansfield, Bolton etc are making the big signings early, then voting FOR the salary cap.

I enjoyed the forum the other night but you're right I too was surprised with Stuart's comments regarding changing formations to counter the opposition, if your starting 11 are right and the formation is formation to get the best from those players it should be the opposition worrying about changing formations to counter.

Alleluia. Absolutely spot on. Why would people write him off when the guy has barely played 90 minutes for us. Typical of many modern day City fans unfortunately.

How can I not be patronising when you trot out the exact excuses I said you would?

Not his players, new to management, only one window, club on the down, players maybe didn't have the character he needs (what manager doesnt need players with character?), chairman was bullying him and excuse upon excuse upon excuse upon excuse for failure.

So his one bit of relative success was when he was handed a club on the up, a great couple of years, with the foundation (and more) of a good team. Even then he didn't get over the final hurdle which, and I have said this many times, if Parkinson had been in charge with the same team we would have gone up as Champions.

I simply don't see that this is a good appointment and I will argue it until proved otherwise and to date we have NO evidence to suggest it is.

Other than being Mr Bradford City and a Bradford PLAYING Legend there is nothing in his management resume that would have got him the job.

....and people on here complain about a lack of ambition!

    A very constructive comment.
You may not like Julian Rhodes, i am not overly keen, and i think he and his partners at the time, should not have taken the dividends out of the club that they did , during the premiership days, but i don't see how you can have such vitriol for the man, who is running the cub to the best of his ability after the mess left by Rahic and is trying to find a suitable replacement.
Has he crossed you in some way in the past

The majority of clubs move forwards and backwards , its the nature of professional football .
Only those clubs with super wealthy backers , progress and sustain it , at great cost to there bank accounts, we cant all have chairpersons like Salford.
Accept where we are at this present time, back the club, if not the owner or ceo, they will not be around forever, they never are, but the fans will be , as long as the club is there to support.
A new owner or ceo , could be better or could be worse, its a fact of life.

He finished 3rd, 2nd and 2nd so it was hardly a flash in the pan and then he was found out. Believe he had some strong cup runs too. You say it was easy but there were 10 other managers in the league at the time failed to do so. The reason for my comment was because whoever I was responded to said he had only ever had one good season when he got us to the play-offs and he'd never done it by building his own team. Was just pointing out that's not true

and that is a ridiculous question as swell.

I would simply say I would invite applications and go through a full review process. I would not make an appointment based on who the fan might cheer for. Agreed it is not a guarantee of success.

But you clearly want a name.

We could have invited Nathan Jones for an interview. At the VERY LEAST we SHOULD have interviewed him...interviewed SOMEONE!. Jones had a bad experience at Stoke but built Luton. He has gone back to Luton and taken them from dead and buried, relegated, to surviving in the Championship.

We took a manager who has never won anything or achieved a single promotion.

Here, for me, is the telling question.

Remove McCalls name from the top of his CV. Do you even have him in for an interview?

If we are being honest with ourselves the answer is a resounding no. We wouldn't let him anywhere near the club and if we appointed him the fans would be in uproar about our clear lack of ambition.

Is it so you can say typical we wait to sign players when every other club have theirs signed up and then go on about it until the next window.

If we can get five decent loan for a season costing nothing it would be stupid not to in the situation we are in

Strange move by Evatt if true and a bit of a way down from the stellar appointment they were talking about only 2 weeks ago. Hope he's checked their finances.

I'd swap all 5 for one that's any good though.
