i have read it now. Had replied preciously before reading.

I agree it’s looked promising in patches with Watt as an example. But we still have glaring holes in the squad that by the sounds of it we are no clearing to filling. Yes we have a window and a long one but would be nice to know we have got our bodies in and any loans we make are for cover for a change?
What happens if we don’t get these loans at right back? How far down the list are we? Our core squad should be our players for 2 seasons so we can get some consistency and a togetherness. Instead it chops and changes every summer. That’s my main issue.

I'd put it mainly down to absolutely no consistency in manager and some awful contracts handed out. It hasn't left any room for progressive thinking, what does need to happen is that the club needs to follow one ideology for recruiting if you will regardless of manager if we are going to keep cycling through them.

When Wyke left one thing I’ll credit Rahic with is we already had Doyle lined up. The signing didn’t work, but when you’re losing your top scorer it’s important to be doing business at the same time to bring a replacement in. It doesn’t bother me so much that Vaughan is leaving, if he doesn’t want to be here it’s counter productive to keep him, but as soon as we knew he wanted out we should have been working out how to have virtually no overlap between him leaving and the new signing. Sadly although hope I’m wrong I doubt we’ve even approached anyone yet. And hope it’s not Dennis, he’s been garbage everytime I’ve seen him play since pizza gate.

I agree and a small recruitment team consistent to this club would work at this level. 2 or 3 scouts before a chief scout who reports directly to the manager. None of this them signing players off there own back or going to the chairman. It’s between them 2 to work out what they need based on our budget.

That way you don’t have to rip it all up and start again. If one of the scouts gets poached you lose him but keep all your reports. He’s replaceable. Same again if manager goes. You get one in you know will work with them. And the cycle goes on. If you’re lucky to sell players you know who you can get in and the money raised can buy new software or put them in a permanent office etc. And repeat and repeat

I personally don’t think we will get any more strikers in and that’s worrying. I think mccall said in the zoom we have 4 who are all the same. So that leaves 3 for one position with Clarke playing off of them. If we want to go to a 2 we play Donaldson and Novak for example.

that’s fine but goals will be a problem and other areas of the squad have to be strengthened where we have holes

Either you are overpaid at your current job, unlikely given salary levels in the UK, or you are completely crazy. You would take a significant reduction in your salary to analyse a different set of statistics simply because those statistics have something to do with football.

I simply don't believe it. An accountant is an accountant whether it is at Morrisons or Bradford City.

Would I give up thousands of pounds to work for a football club because it is a .... football club....not on your bloody nelly.

I like that idea...consistency... but we know it isn't going to work as each and every manager, including our current one is going to scream, when it starts going wrong, "But they aren't my players", "I need a couple of windows" et al. Even the fans on here trot these out in defence of manager a/b/c each and every time. So neither side is going to align with a philosophy that states that the manager needs to work with what he has.

Like i've stated before , dont know why we dont get George Williams , welsh lad recently released by Forest Green. Had bad luck with injuries last season , but is young enough , and i reckon hungry enough to do a job here .

Think you’re under estimating the use of analysts in most companies, especially consultant analysts, we’re paid very well, I’ve had a raise during lockdown, but that’s irrelevant.
I’ll happily go in the “crazy” bracket though, I’d love to work for my football club on an exciting project, knowing the impact I could make would benefit friends and family, as well as the club I love. But each to their own. When looking at a career, money isn’t even in the top 3 for me, but job satisfaction is. I’d get tremendous joy in helping City succeed, much more so than helping the supermarket I work for increase sales and efficiency, even if they pay X amount more for my services.

I dont mind Vaughan going if we get a decent replacement or maybe 2 players. If it was me I would either go for cal Roberts at notts county he was notts county best player by a mile in play offs or resign dylan Connolly and probably a striker on loan from a higher division with out and out pace maybe Callum Morton who was on loan at Northampton from west Brom 8 goals in 12 appearances from january onwards

Just wondering if were not gonna play with a front 2 next season, that could be another reason why we let Vaughan go without a fight. 3 4 3 3 centre backs then 2 centre mid with wood on left wing back and we need a new right side wing back with 1 central number 9 either novak Donaldson or Guthrie then 1 either side ( that's where Clarke played for grimsby) I think the incoming signings will tell us this in the weeks to come

Not only do I see a problem with the artillary there I also see a problem with the supply line !, Motley-Crewe ? Ishmail ? Pritchard ? All three next to useless. Not sure what it adds up to but it aint goals thats for certain. This looks a worse group than last time if that were even possible ?

Pritchard isn't useless, he's a steady player for any top half team - but I agree, DMH and Ismail don't exactly whet the appetite.

Currently, I can't see past a midfield three of Pritchard-Cooke-Watt, and I'm having to assume we're playing a diamond as it stands, with Clarke behind Donaldson and Novak.

Other than switching to a lopsided 4-3-3 with one of the front three being a winger, I'm not sure what else we're looking at.
