Did we? A player that had been given a 3yr contract then moving on for £250-£300k, is hardly “unusually high”.

Let’s not compare him against the likes of Wisdom, Cleverley, Delph or even Green. They were all kids and hadn’t got a professional contract, let alone one for 3yrs

That’s no evidence to say the fee was high or low, most fans know nothing when it comes to potential. Compared with a premier club with top scouts and coaches. Most signings have a sell on these days. But as someone else said none of us know till it happens so it’s pointless going in circles.

 

But Swansea got relegated in May2018 so all Sky money for that season would have been paid up.

They’ve only had just one season back in the Championship. Before the campaign started, they signed a few players for fees less than £10m, but sold a host of players for more than £47m. And will those be included in their accounts yet anyway? I’m sure ours for 2018/19 aren’t out, so how come theirs are?

And how come their wages are so high, especially when they sold many of their biggest earners? Have they been paying some real stupid wages then?

True, but only for 6mths following their relegation because he joined a team in Qatar in January. I’d expect they’d be picking up his wages from then.

So in the 2017/18 season, they got the FULL payment from Sky. This would have been more than £100m. So why did you (and others) start discussing the fact this was half for the season just ended?

You know more than most Dennis. So, although Swansea got relegated in May 2018, their accounts prior to that, would have been for the 2016/17 season, right? What picture did they paint?

Edit - actually, just seen that this was the season they spent big on the likes of Ayew, Bony, Clucas and Mesa

 

Reckon we should bin off the overpriced catpiss we serve currently and bring in some local brews.
