It would be less. You’re not going to sell merchandise, food, beer to people who don’t go, and without a doubt sponsorship revenues would reduce to a lesser audience. Fact is if the price doubled you’d half the number of ticket holders

Called it! Will be interesting to see how his career goes now. Obv loads of talent, just needs to get his head back into the game.
I remember he had a very good performance against us at VP last time he played us. Years ago though.

    Spot on.

The departure of Todd is a real worry. Not because I feel strongly about what he's brought or could bring. But he's clearly the assistant that Bowyer wanted.

I understand that we have to cut our cloth accordingly. But we're a club that needs a significant rebuild and that brings a level of cost - a cost which Rupp must bear because he's accountable for why we've regressed so much, so quickly.

Any rebuild such as this has to start from the top - there may be some concessions which mean that we miss out on the odd player, or have to run with a smaller squad than we'd like. But we shouldn't be making any concession on the coaching and leadership team that are going to put us on the right track. In fact, I'd go higher than the manager - who's running the operational side of the club? Rhodes, presumably. The mans a wet blanket who doesn't exactly inspire.

I believe Bowyer's intent is sound and I think he's capable. But it's too big for one man to take on - I don't for a second think we have the right plan or capability within the football club to undo the damage that's been done. Certainly not quickly.

I don't think most fan did recognise what Rahifc was doing, we were told the club were interviewing applicants interested in managing our club, there were many names thrown about both on here and also in the media generally names like Warburton, Ferguson, McCann, Heckingbottom. UWwe Rosler until he got the Malmo job, Garner, Wolfe.
The usual lads who many classed as ITK were wide of the mark, and were no where near predicting the final outcome, Collins promoted from U18 coach to first team duties help by another coach who had not been a success at any reasonable level, but then we had Greg Abbott to advise with his wealth of knowledge within the lower leagues.
And even when the club broke the news many were far from happy but suggested we could only give the new guys time. we know the rest.

Not rumours but I see that Tom Elliott and Andrew Taylor are out of contract at Millwall and Bolton respectively. Probably both out of our reach but would be ideal signings in my opinion. We can’t afford to get stuck in League 2 again.

    Wishful thinking.

They’re not going to drop down to League 2.

Give it a rest Bronco. Senility must be difficult but please try not to bore everybody with your bitterness to other forums.

Not sure where it's coming from, but I have a feeling in my bones that Rupp is gonna ship out this season. His priority is going to be putting his money into the club to clear the debts in order to make us a saleable asset, rather than putting his cash for further expenses (players, staff etc). Trimming the wage overheads by reducing the coaching staff, followed by shifting players on a free to reduce the wage bill further, or cashing in on a few and using the funds to pay off debtors.
Nothing he has said - and I mean that literally - has inspired me that he's looking for us to bounce back and that he's in this for the long term. Yes, quote me that statement he released after Edin did one, but has he really been true to his word regarding all he said?
I'm expecting a few of our "big names" to leave for "undisclosed sums" and a trickle of loans and out of contract players coming in.

If you're right, he's playing a very dangerous game. A club with league status is a much more attractive proposition to any potential investor than one that has fallen down the trap door to non league, particularly in our case given we don't own the stadium and would struggle to continue paying the rent on something that would be far too big for our needs. Without investment now, there is no guarantee we will survive in league 2 next season, never mind be challenging for promotion back to league 1 and If Rupp doesn't see that, we are well and truly fecked.

Which is why I said he's already prepping. Don't think he'll wait until the end of the upcoming season...

If he going to dump us and cut his loses, he owes us morally big time. Sell now and give us a chance. He can put his loses down to experience!

Anyone who we have to compete for we can cross off. We'll be left with the dregs of the free agents and the loans who nobody else wants.

Don’t think a sale is imminent I just think we are back to where we have been in the foreseeable past overspend one year and pay it back the next or benefit from windfalls. The much liked “Deficit” unless there is anybody out there who is prepared to part with millions without any hope of return on their money it’s the way it will be.
What is very wrong is raising people’s expectations then crushing them with interviews like Bowyers yesterday.

I heard five names yesterday with links to GB
Marc Cullen Blackpool previously played at City on loan from Hull. Jack Doyle a defender Blackburn , Scott Wharton like wise a centre back at Blackburn. Tom Aldred another defender and a bit of a favourite and "leader type" of GBs at Blackpool and Callum Cooke who played on loan at Blackpool from Peterboro ?. Looks like GB is rebuilding us into Bradpool Rovers ??
