I reckon it will be Jamie Devitt. Swindon boss who tried to sign him in the summer, states in the local Swindon press that he doesnt think Devitt will sign for them, due to location. Apparently Devitt told Wellans earlier in the summer, that he didnt want to move from Manchester. With Plymouth, and us also interested now, I would imagine location leaves us favourites to sign him

 

I don't think that has been the case since Bantam Talk was formed, maybe I've let the past go.......unlike yourself, such a shame.

I remember that when he was playing for City, the manager (Peter Taylor I think) had issues with him turning up late on matchdays

 

Hopefully that will not be the case if he "wants" to play for City.

 

It was Parky who signed him on loan from Hull just after he joined us. I think Devitt used to travel from Hull. I remember one match day when he arrived late, before kick off though, as his taxi got stuck in traffic, but Parky dropped him. Parky not impressed. He was only young then, so perhaps he has matured a bit.

 

Think if I remember correctly he was ok when he played for us. A little light weight.

 

As long as it's not intentionally and deliberately offensive then I think there's definitely a place for the humour. God knows we sometimes need it being City fans.

 

He was a skillful lad as I recall but seemed a bit full of himself. I think he turned up late twice and that was the end for him. Maybe he's older, stronger and, hopefully, wiser.

 

That's my recollection too.
