Yes. But what I mean is, if they didn't have the evidence all those months ago... why would they have it now? Presumably in these sort of cases it's the sort of evidence you need to gather promptly?

As for the response, thanks for this. Now I’ve seen it, I see where you are coming from and having reflected, I probably agree. Personally, I don’t think either will kick on, but as you say, more potential in Gibson doing it, if he puts in the hard graft and listens to the likes of Donaldson, Vaughan and Scannell.

 

There is no limit on how long you can be released under investigation.
@Thelittlegerman As has been said many times on here, delays possibly caused by need to trawl through phone records etc., lack of staff in the police and the CPS etc.

Don't know about that I think it's the CPS who take their time. Even if it doesn't proceed maybe the club won't take him back depending on the circumstances

 

I'm guessing its lack of evidence so far or they would have charged him with an offence. Either way the lad is innocent and free to come and go as he chooses.

I don’t want to drag this thread away from Danny mayor but it would be a delay which is causing the CPS to have to wait to make a decision.

Not a lack of evidence. It may be the evidence is not ready to view. Let’s say phone records. Police have a backlog, then someone from cps has to review it for the charge etc. It’s time consuming and it’s all part of a delay.

This happens with nearly every case currently of this nature. The system is creaking and will eventually collapse. We just don’t know about it because it doesn’t involve us day to day.
