I've laid into Edin something fierce over the last 12 months and the jury is very much still out.

But fair do's, the recruitment this summer had been excellent. And announcing Doyle coming in at the same time as Wyke leaving, is excellent PR. Maybe lessons are being learned....

I'm still hoping for one more striker though...

 

Don't get the obsession with target men to be honest. Don't think it's Collins style either

 

Whilst this is true, I’d suggest there are 2 things we can learn from the game.

Because we don’t have a targetman, stop slinging the ball long from those goal kicks. Play it out from the back.

Secondly, if we do sign and start with a targetman, we lose the ability to get a quicker player running at the opposition directly, as we got with Miller. And if we only want one to come on as a sub to see the game out, could Clare do that, or even Brunkner?

Put another way, I’d rather another in the same mould as Doyle (such as Sharp), than I would with someone like Hanson

 

Perhaps if you'd have shouted the first time we would have heard you.

 

Some of our fan base are that retarded they should not be allowed an opinion.

 

They also promised entertaining attacking football, always playing to win and accepting losses via this system, this ethos would right through the club, juniors, academy, first team. I've a memory like an elephant, what a load of bobbins that all was, we've flip flopped so much that we have no system, no ethos, nobody appears to know what they are doing and everything is now an absolute mess.

 

I'm sick of reading his BS soundbites, it's the same old crap straight out of the football clichés handbook.

What I want to hear from him is that they have settled on a system that everyone understands and buys into and that he has coached them in the said system.

He needs to cut out the tinkering and get the basics drilled into the team.

This lad Jordy Hiwula is out of contract in July I'd take him on a free.

 

We never got the best out of McNulty. Both he and Hiwula became more and more and more frustrated. They were making run after run into spaces and behind the defence whilst our midfield played pretty little triangles between themselves or ran sideways to look for Marshall

 

I genuinely believe some of our fans were that desperate to be ‘proved right’ because they didn’t want McCall back, that they try their best to ridicule him at every opportunity.

Fact is, McCall’s record in his 2nd spell stands up against the best we have ever had and that includes Parkinson

 

That’s because we don’t want a ‘manager’, we are looking for a ‘coach’ - odious man! This guy really pisses me off.

 

Just cannot see Middlesbrough or West Brom being interested. Not good enough for a top championship club in my opinion

It has been quoted so many times by myself and others I would have thought even the most pro new owners would have understood.
But here goes again, when buying the club they stated they wouldnt change anything "why would we" was the comment and did exactly that by asking Parky to work under different terms to what he was contracted to under our last owners.
Their model we're told was a head coach yet they employ a manager in Stuart McCall then when they sack him employ yet another manager in Simon Grayson
They tell us they have interviewed several potencial head coaches but none came up to their expectations as they never offered any a contract, never a mention that those who they interviewed might have "turned us down" as Simon Grayson did.
Then after weeks of interviewing they find exactly what they were looking for right under their noses already working for the club how convenient, during Gregs interview he comments Edin asked him if he felt he could " work on the grass if required" why would a new coach want anyone but his own backroom staff working along side him on the training pitch, sceptical bronco eh.
We could go on but here are a few examples of stuff they have said that don't add up, now as I have said another of their bravardo comments was Championship within 3 years, I do hope they are correct, or was it just anothed flippent comment from one of our owners similar to the " we can still get 2nd place" when most fans were quite happy at where we were in the league but realised we were punching far above our weight, and of course the the " well back the manager if we are there of there abouts in January" that went well failed bid for Dennis, so we sign McGowan and bring in 3 loans, is that supporting your manager ?.
