That's the problem with the system though. These two are EXACTLY the type of player we should be actively chasing and securing in our search for a conveyor belt of saleable talent.

Instead we have a scattergun approach of signing released youngsters and somehow expecting them to have slipped through the net. As it is, we don't have one saleable asset I can think of that we brought in for free. Not even Robinson was before the latest news.

 

Cullen off to Charlton so I hear. Bit gutting that. Going to a champ club fair enough, but one of our league rivals. Disappointing.
Geography I presume if true.

First season for us he was probably our best player, but I'll agree that in the second season he wasn't nearly as good. Maybe injury affected him

I don't know if West Ham would let him go, the article with regards Pellegrini suggests he won't be going anywhere but if true Charlton are interested I'd suggest he showed enough whilst at our club to be giving West Ham a call.

Cynical side of me reckons I know exactly why we're chasing another defender (supposedly)....

They're cheap.

We chased forwards all last year and couldn't attract one with our wage structure.

We might be signing plenty, but are they all essential?

When Kilgallon isn't even making the bench, you'd think we'd appreciate the embarrassment of riches we have back there.

If we were signing a midfielder, I'd expect either a hard tackling central defensive midfielder or an out and out winger.

Better yet, a striker.

 

We are nowhere near the finished article so the Management need to act and sort it. Only then will we be what we will be.

 

Maybe we were after him before we brought in Mellor.

 

Dont know how true it is but a Donny fan reckons they have enquired about taking killa on loan but does say we haven't responded either way.

 

Let the lad go, if he doesn't go out on loan and can't make the bench from this lot of defenders, it's defiantly nothing to do with Kilgallon's footballing ability.

Would be a good signing for them and improve their defence, Be good for Killa as well as he is obviously not in the plans and not wanted by MC

 

If we're not going to play Killa, he's no longer an asset to us and we're no good to him,he wants to play.

Better to move him on and release funds for a target man.
