Training Facilities (Groundhog Day revisited)

We have zero assets because we went bust and had to go cap in hand to continue as a football club. Lesser clubs have gone Bury, Chester, Macclesfield. Others have probably got a better history and set up than us, but still struggled Bolton, Blackpool.
We get good crowds because a match day cost with the season ticket is £8.70. How many turned up to the FA cup when it was £15 2000.

 

I think the point is, that footballers do not live in Joe blogs world.
i am probably 3 times their age, work 4 times the hours they do , for a quarter of the money.
If they dont like it, become a nurse, police officer street cleaner, construction worker.

 

As I said this is one of the reasons why we can't find the right players in. We don't highlight procession ourselves. So yeah player chills in his wages.

 

I’m bored of going over it now and don’t want to derail the thread but my point is purely that we demand much more from the club. We think because we are Bradford City that league 2 is beneath us and that we should whipping teams every week but our structure does not match the fans ambition at all. Yes our facilities are probably ok but the fact remains that our facilities have been mentioned as not being good enough by 3 people in recent times and these are people with vast experience of the game.

The structure won’t change not even in the next decade. We can’t leave VP and our own training facility would cost 10s of millions but then as our facilities are no better than Barrows or Walsall’s then as it stands we are on equal par and are absolutely where we deserve to be.

Footballers are generally greedy , self interested individual's, with no connection, heart or passion for the clubs they represent .

 

We are where we are until we climb the league's, thus gaining more income or someone comes along that is willing to spend their own money in largish amounts to get a better situation. Lets hope one of our fans wins big on the euromillions. That's the only way i see it happening.

 

This argument about how players should become something else if they complain about something is amusing.

 

I didn't see anything in the quote attributed to Warnock about the facilities being unacceptable in and of themselves, his beef was rather like Fordy's in that it's a bloody school FFS.
If it's true that the facilities are not always a available to the players when they need them then that is certainly something that could do with being addressed, but that doesn't mean they aren't good enough.

 

No that’s true. I’ve no doubt the pitches are absolutely fine as is the gym and probably even the fact they’re eating school meals. I guess Warnocks point is that for a club which sees its self as a big club with ambitions to get back to where it was 20 or so years ago then we probably need better.

 

We trained there when warlock was first here, he knew what he was getting. Personally I think he may have been misquoted as he doesn't come across as one to complain.

Grayson, on the other hand, is a big time Charlie whose opinion of himself is way too inflated.

 

Who don’t really start full time work until they are around twenty years old, despite having been in their chosen profession since they were nine years old or younger, and if they’re very fortunate, they’ll have a career for another fourteen years after that. Some make a lot of money, the absolute best make an obscene amount of money, but a lot don’t. I’m not buying the whole “all footballers are lazy, greedy and only in it for the money” thing.

 

Well you'd better get owning the stadium out of your head Ryan made it pretty clear what ever the new deal is in 5 years time it has to be to the benefit of the pension fund.

 

Just the team that wasn't

 

They were good enough for the team that survived in the Premier League. The Championship promotion team. The League Two promotion winners. The team that reached a major cup final.

They aren’t ideal but they are not holding us back. Shit players/managers/lack of leadership at the top are all bigger stumbling blocks to success.
