Nothing is decided in Feb, a long long way to go. I went back four seasons season because i couldn't be bothered going further, to track how many keep the pace. No team that's ended up winning the play offs have even been in the play offs at this stage in the season. There's also always at least 1 club that have a clear cushion in the auto spots and drop. As long as you build from from now on wards, you tend to go up as long as you are in and around the mix like we are now.

2019 - 5 teams (play off winner was 10th at the time). Tranmere were 10th (8 points off PO's, Newport 14th (10 points off PO's) and they ended up in the final. Mansfield were 2nd with a 7 point gap on 4th, ended up 4th 3 points off autos.

2018 - 5 teams (play off winner was 8th at the time). Accrington were 5th, 2 points off autos and ended up winning the league with a 13 point gap from 4th place. Notts county dropped from 2nd to the play offs and 9 points off autos.

2017 - 6 teams (play off winner was 14th at the time). Portsmouth were 7th and 8 points off 3rd, ended up winning the league with a 10 point gap between 4th. Carlisle were 3rd, 4 points clear of the play off chasers and ended up 14 points off autos.

2016 - 6 teams (play off winner was 10th at the time). Wimbledon were 10th, 2 points off the play offs and ended up 7th with a 6 points cushion on 8th. Plymouth were 2nd with a 9 point gap from 4th. Ended up 5th 4 points off autos.

Why are you trying so hard to prove a point that no one else really sees? Everyone loves McCall and would love to see him achieve success. If he fails he fails, why does there have to be some sort of conspiracy with it? He's been appointed for two reasons, 1, because Rhodes thinks he can do a job as manager and 2, cos it was the easiest and less hassle appointment. Already has the number, bloke knows the club inside out and it means less work for Rhodes. No guarantee what the outcome will be bar it cannot be any worse than Boreyer ball.

There's nearly a third of the season to go. Form can change very quickly and teams can get very nervous at the top as the pressure mounts towards the end. Very often a side puts a string of wins together and shoots into contention late on. No reason at all why that shouldn't be us now.

    Yep, too late.

Not only the points, not only the games in hand, but the weakening of the squad.

Plenty good enough for 7th, 3rd is a BIG stretch.

Anyone delivering 3rd is a hero.

It was fact that we were in free fall with no chance of turning it around under GB that's why. Only my opinion is that we do have some good players on the books and I think we'll start scoring goals under McCall. If my prediction is right that should see the W column increase giving us a greater chance.

I think a trend is something that is likely to continue - if you want to change a trend, change something that has the potential to impact on what you’re trying to change. We want to win games, so we’ve changed a defensive minded manager to a more offensive minded manager. In my mind, we now should have more opportunities to win games. The fact that Jordan has produced indisputable facts, gives me hope that our change does give us a chance.

I agree it's hardly bleeding rocket science. McCall has a free hit for 15 games, if he's here next season nad fails as badly as Bowyer it will be McCalls fault.

I am afraid you are wasting your time here, all of your points are valid. However, this poster likes nothing better than a good argument, he will be right back at you, asking for this that and the other to support every single point you make.

it is easy to say, we have loads of applicants and they are all better than McCall. It was Rhodes decision to approach Stuart, rather than ‘he should be made to apply and be interviewed’ Stuart brings something unique that the rest don’t. If he wasn’t available then that is exactly what we would be doing, which would take at the every least a week, but probably longer. The club still think we are in with a chance so we need to get on with it, as they now say Stuart is oven ready!

I mention free hit in that too much damage has been done that has put us on a downward spiral. McCall may or may not get a playoff spot but i wouldn't be critical of him if he didn't and i would say that of any new manager with the position the club is in. Bowyer should have been sacked at least a week ago giving a new manager at least a bit of time in January. And make no mistake this teams morale had hit rock bottom after Saturdays result. Will take a few games for McCall and Black to assess the teams strengths and get them up to speed with their plans. And by then we will have used up precious games.

These next 4 games are key. 10pts is definitely within our reach with the right man at the helm.

Then come Plymouth at home. Could be a big 6 pointer. Win that and there's a chance

All about momentum now. Let's hope we get that honeymoon bounce...

This season: Bowyer. He’s signed 20 players in total. It’s his squad and he’s been in charge for the bulk of the games.

Next season: McCall. With the amount of players we have out of contract he’ll have a chance to stamp his authority and build his own team. No excuses next season.

only yesterday Ryan Sparks said the club had been inundated with contacts from applicants who were interested in the job. with managers such as Nathan Jones and Paul Tisdale available a serious club would have gone through the applicants and short-listed, interviewed, got an idea of what each type of manager wanted, the resources needed, the plan to develop the club and take us forward.. instead they've made a move to appease the majority of fans. it's clear on here and social media that not all would have had McCall as their first choice - in my opinion they've had him lined up, rushed it and not even taken anyone else into consideration even though there may have been better candidates out there. it screams of bad planning and desperation which some of the fans have lapped up - but I'm not surprised. just because it's easy, doesn't mean it's right. he should have had to apply and interview just like everybody else.

Does it scream of bad planning, or is it something they've been working on for a while? Any EFL club that sack their manager are going to be inundated with out of work managers throwing their hat into the ring - there are a lot of them about and only a limited amount of vacancies, doesn't mean any of them are going to be the right man for the job at this point in the season. If we've already got someone lined up that can come straight in and hit the ground running, (and who may have had a say in some of the players brought in last week), that sounds like quite good planning to me.

You sound surprised at your own post. This is Bradford City, you really didn't expect anyone else bar McCall, you ain't that naive. It's the easy option, only time will tell if it's the right option, and that goes with any manager unless you can see into the future. As a club we very rarely are proactive, I'd expect that they wouldn't have even contemplated sacking Bowyer if it wasn't for the Oldham game, I mean, who sacks a manager just after a transfer window? Oh yeah....

Absolutely. Our previous couple of managers went through an interview process as well as lengthy trial periods and that didn't get us very far.
