I was delighted with the Wyke signing. We speculated and it paid off. I was always a Doyle sympathiser. We managed to feck that up though. Royally.

Is it any wonder that we never sign "decent" players. Their agents tell them of the interest, they take one look on here and the T&A page and say, no thanks that clubs fans are poison.

 

A great point and mirrors what I said to Bronco in conversation last week. Rochdale have a decent hit rate in terms of developing strikers they bring to the club. It's not really what we do. Also Charman would realise he's a straight swap for Beezley and is a perfect fit for the way the manager wants to play.

Were we beaten to the signing by Rochdale though? All I've ever seen was one rumour account on Twitter link him and now you're getting your knickers in a twist about it, we were probably never even interested. And besides which, exactly the same thing happened with Orsi last year, one rumour account linked us and he signed for Harrogate... suddenly everyone is crying because we can't compete with Harrogate apprently! Orsi has just been loaned out to Borehamwood because he's not at League 2 level by the way...

 

Cook barely touched the ball on Tuesday. We were outplayed throughout and whenever it went forward it didn’t stick. Neither Robinson or Lavery are target men either.

Cook was isolated as we were camped in our own half for the majority of the game. Every long ball he challenged for he seemed to win, but more often than not we lost possession anyway because the nearest player in support was 20 yards away.

 

I'm not passing judgement until @Fordy117 lets me know how good a signing this is.

 

Yep instead of signing quality we will go for quantity. A few ok players backed up by dross after dross with the youth overlooked as suitable back up.

His reasoning for buying us in the first place was the awesome fans. The atmosphere and all the culture we had. Any poison from the fans now is justified and the fault lies solely with the man who owns the club.

The players decisions will always boil down to money. We dont offer enough and thats the simple fact, Occams Razor. I dont think Rupp should be expected to cough up season after season if he doesnt want. But its football and if he doesnt want to invest he should bugger off.

Stockton now hit 20 in League 1 and £500k fee been talked about.

 

We were told they had a plan to work from transfer window to transfer window and would always be ready when each window came round.

That was scrapped after 2 windows (Jan and Summer last year) when we got rid of person we recruited to run it.

Seriously there is no point anymore. Year after year we're told a pack of lies about budgets, kitty etc.

Until we rid ourselves of the owner and find someone who will actually spend money building a team then we are stuck where we are which is a mid table league 2 team picking up league 2 cast off players.

 

If Elliott gets on its imperative we have Vernam on the field and we get Ridehalgh up the pitch, both getting crosses in. Some of the balls Ridehalgh puts in are begging for a big old fashioned centre forward on the end of them.

Why fans take notice of fans from the club said player came from is beyond belief, as I posted Doyle did nothing at Valley Parade many blame the manager who's to say that wasn’t a similar situation at Salford, I'll not judge the lad until I see how Adams employs him in our set up.

 

I agree with a lot of the comments saying another cast off journeyman and not the striker we all hoped for, but tbh the striker we all wanted was realistically never going to happen especially in January, but despite this I do think this guy could add a few bits to our game we do need, it probably wont be easy on the eye but there's a chance he may help to increase our ppg ratio, weather it will increase it enough is anyones guess but I'm prepared to give him a chance.

 

If we start playing 2 up front it will stop other teams defence starting to build up from the back and going forward like we have seen all season, we need 2 strikers up front and we might start controlling games for a change. Pretty basic football, keep the ball Jon the other half unless they have a Beckham that can score from the half way line.

No TBF Elliott looked quite lively when he came on-seems to have a bit of pace about him and actually won some headers.
