I'd like us to keep Wood, but I get the feeling he will be canvassing other clubs having played quite a bit of first team football for us. He's really cut his teeth here, going from a poor Leicester City academy product to a reliable first teamer. He was fantastic last season, but hasn't replicated that this year; I don't think it would be too difficult to replace him, if there's one area we've been consistently strong in regardless of our division, it's at full back.

But if FCD gets injured? We'd have no specialist right back cover. French doesn't convince me at RB.
I'd rather we hang on to Hosannah. He has pace, which we lack, and can play as a wide midfielder/winger. Even if we choose to prioritise FCD, Hosannah is a very good bench option.

Thought for one minute Bruce had got his boots out, earlier on in the season he'd have got a game even at 79.

More or less exactly where my thoughts are too - if we could move even a couple of them on in Jan it will help

No way is an injury prone player going to agree to be let go. He would rather stay and take a wage. As would I to be fair

My view of Wood is that Stuart's switching about trying to get things right didn't do Connor any favours. I think it has shown that he is far more comfortable as an old fashioned attacking, overlapping fullback, rather than a wingback. Under Trueman and Sellers he looks happier and far more like the player we first brought in.

I was told by Accy fans when BRE signed he would start reasonably well but because he has outside buisness interest (I believe something to do with clothing) his head would eventually turn more towards that.

For once I agree with you. Can't be having Wood doing a "Meredith" so he signs or goes. As for Staunton, if Peterborough want him then lets take the money and use it well. For the rest of the season we have AOC, POC and where's yer caravan at CB. Plus isn't Foulds also a CB ?

Get a decent fee and that money can be used in the summer rebuild.

If that were true, I'd agree with you. But it isn't.

If he really wants to leave now or at the end of the season, we simply have to offer him a contract better than his current one. If he chooses to decline the offer, we become automatically entitled to compensation in the form of a development fee because of his age.

It might be what they're doing, but it doesn't mean we have to agree with it. Initial fee would have to be £500K, same again for promotion, and a 15% sell on. Minimum. Anything less isn't worth it.

If a club, say Peterborough come in and show an interest, then a player and his agent will sit up and take notice. MacAnthony has a track record of getting players big money moves. Now we could be stubborn and say if our demands aren't met then the player stays put but that's not how it works in the real world, you don't want an unhappy player on your hands. You still have a say in what transfer fee is paid but generally if a club from a higher division shows interest then a move is on the cards.

Best way for me to put this is go listen to the excellent podcasts he does with City fan Phil Ideson and make your own mind up. MacAnthony isnt everyone's cup of tea but for me personally I'd have him as owner of our club tomorrow and I'd be very optimistic of our club being in the championship. 60 million of transfer fees tells you he knows his onions when it comes to football.

I once asked him on Twatter if he would ever consider buying us and he replied saying if he left Posh, and still wanted to be in football, we would be top of his list due to potential. Course he could have been just appeasing me, but that doesn't seem to be his MO.

Take £500,00+ off and all the signing on fees off loyalty bonuses, agent fees it's still a massive return and a nice wedge in his pocket, with the money they have made over the last decade I would have expected them to have been pushing and achieving promotion to the Championship season on season that was my original point.

Given that they've been sat in the 3rd tier of english football since 2013 hardly suggests that the Posh are ambitious.
In fact I'd say the opposite. The owner seems to be happy to buy players and sell them on at a big profit over trying to invest in stregthening the team and push up the leagues.
This is probably because his business model for the club (buy low, sell high) would see more of the profit from these sales having to go on wages and fees if the Posh were in the Championship or the PL. I wonder how much he takes out of the club each year?
They don't have a massive fan base or catchment area. This means more emphasis on the owner to fund the club. And as they've sat in Lg1 for 7 years now I'd say that tells you all you need to know about the owners ambitions.
