    Raeder only played 4 times, looked poor but then again so did Brad Jones and look where he is now....

    I don't think anybody is excited, I think folk are optimistic. Apart from you because you hate Edin. Simple as that.

    I think edin n gregg as to take credit wheres it due;riley,wright,isherwood(95k fee)potentaily exciting winger seedorf put that with a fit jones,robinson,reeves,macgowan,killa,gibson,the ever improving bruenkar etc and i am extremely excited and positive about the season ahead.well done.

    What are his strengths?
    One immediate advantage is that he’s left footed and slots naturally onto the left side of a centre-back pairing. This can be a valuable asset as clubs seek balance at the back and could provide him with a way into a first team.

    At 6ft 4ins (195cm) he is naturally good in the air and will provide a threat at attacking set pieces as well as being an asset when defending them.

    It’s difficult to gauge a player’s quality who hasn’t yet featured at the highest level but judging him from the games he has played, he appears to have the ability to make the next step, even if he’s not yet considered good enough for Bayern.

    He’s quick enough to cover and is decent on the ball with his left foot. He’ll occasionally carry possession out of defence should gaps appear and if a passing option isn’t immediately available.

    He also has good anticipation and a reading of the game which is vital in his position.

    Does he have weaknesses?
    If he has them they will soon become apparent as he makes his next step.

    The fact that scouting networks cost a lot of money suggests no - we are in League One, it is a hard sell.

    I bet if we had scouts in France, Holland, Belgium etc you would moan it was a unnecessary outlay.

    Just cant bring yourself to not have a dig. You know nothing about this lad.
    He was being touted by Rangers & Celtic, has represented Sweden at all levels for his age group so far & played 18 times for Bayern II, so on paper he looks quite good.
    Maybe we wait before calling him a lower league nobody & give him the support & welcome to BCFC that all new players deserve.

    Luke Raeder had also featured 37 times for Bayern II and was touted by Newcastle and Southampton.
    so on paper he was magnificent.

    Not sure what to make of this one.

    On paper, looks to have some quality, given that Celtic and Rangers were both interested.

    The fact that he was on the books at Bayern is irrelevant. He played in their 2nd team who play in the 4th division - a lower standard than league 1. On top of that he has less 1st team games for Bayern than Sattelmaier!

    But he's a big, strong brick shithouse, which is good considering how soft we've become at the back.
