If the comments were more in line with “he must have shown some potential for XX club to sign him up at an early age. Let’s hope we can unlock that potential” then fair enough.

But they don’t. We get lots of “great signing”, “good player” etc, JUST because of the club we signed them from. But one comment that isn’t as positive and all we get is “but you haven’t seen him play yet”. As has been said by many others already, why can some be allowed to form a positive opinion of a player without seeing them play, but others cannot dare to to be the slightest sceptical without the accusation of forming an opinion with no basis?
