In hindsight he fully well knows he probably shouldn't have taken it in the first place, he alludes to that in Jason McKeown's piece he did with the comments his wife made about not taking the job. Been a very poor 4 months or so but they have promised to fix the pitch and are still investing in badly needed improvements behind the scenes which have been neglected for far too long

They are not throwing millions and millions at the club on the pitch which soneunes we fans don’t always like to see but they are here for the long term and will get it right given time I feel.

They have made some shocking mistakes which have cost us dearly. McCall sacking was the main one this season.

Players at this level will always come and go and I don’t agree you need to be spending loads to get promoted from this league. It’s rubbish. If you don’t invest heavily you can write off the top 2 but the plays offs are always so open. Then the investment should come.

I don’t agree with the amount of trust they have in Abbott. Something like that works more with a bigger budget but he has to get 90% right with a smaller budget.

We were saved in previous seasons by the emergency loan system which has now long gone and it affects sides like City. Blackburn et al it doesn’t matter so much.

I think we will get caught out if we don’t act quickly this year with the summer window closing sooner. And I hope we stream line the recruitment process with Abbott poorly. Let the manager identify targets and go and get them.

And key is invest in January and quickly if the manager needs it.

Losing Grayson is not ideal as I felt he had a lot of time to eye up what he needed and for him to walk is clear they were quite far apart. But from what he was asking he can’t have it all if the owners want the club to be run on more of an even keel. Spend big on wages etc is not a guarantee of success. See Bury etc. Add to that and his requests for the training ground and it was too much to expect from a club who takes a big hit with stadium rent before we even start each year.

Get the new manager in this week or next. Say he’s got an x amount to spend and let him get his bodies in. Abbott can be eased back in and identify players for the January window or summer.

 

Yup a man who has invested millions and got his team promoted to the premier league twice in 4 years is definitely comparable to the 2 failures in charge of us.

It was no doubt tense at times I would assume but it wasn't going too bad up until the start of the poor run around December, most fans acknowledged he had a bad run of injuries to players who would normally be starters Reeves, Jones, Chicksen, Doyle, McMahon, Grayson found it hard to get results when he took over and he had some coming back from injury and the 4 who were brought in the last couple of days before the window closed.

Just to add Stuart knew he would not be offered another contract at Bradford City so maybe that was another reason he did not walk, another play off place or better still a Wembley final, how would the owners explain that away when not re-employing him ?.

No. Waste of time. Already been through this, it doesn't matter what is said at a fans forum, most have already made their mind up. The only thing that will their perception is results on the pitch, whether good or bad depending on your agenda.
