Harry Lime would be a good signing, then.

 

Personally speaking, I’d love to see him at another club. Don’t think he’s good enough.

But when he’s been at his best for Stanley and Lincoln, he’s been deployed as a second striker. He also plays as a no10, but I’ve never been keen on that position at this level. Give me pace next to a big lad every time. Someone like Kieran Agard or Nicky Maynard

I think the bottom line with McCartan is whether he wants to be here. I'm not convinced that he does and if that is the case, better for club and player if we part ways.

 

Writing off McCartan seems a bit premature. I agree that he didn’t look up to it when he was with us in L1 but he’s had decent spells for Lincoln and Accrington in L2 so there is no reason why he can’t do the same for us.

Maybe he isn’t an immediate starter but given the other players currently in our squad he seems more than good enough to make the bench.

Absolutely. Plus if we've managed to find a club for wright then I imagine McCarten will have a few offers.

 

And Edin reckoned that's how you made money... spending a lot on complete unknowns!

 

First time I've seen the word star posted in connection with McCartan

Agreed, he's a star shaped peg in a team with round or square holes.

 

I heard we paid footballs top agents whatever they wanted just to get Wright to pee off.

They're struggling with Riley though.

McCartan isn't good enough and he needs to leave and yes we need a decent forward with pace around the big man for sure.

 

We are always banging on about signing players with promotion rather than relegation on their CVs McCartan achieved that last season
