Our defence is probably not the biggest problem. The big problem is what happens in front of them.

Midfielders and forwards aren't really sure where they're supposed to be when we don't have the ball. We seem slow or lackadaisical to close the opposition down and stop passes/crosses. It was all a bit odd really.

I heard Riley got panned but let's not forget he went off and we conceded two second half! Riley, again, wasn't to blame by himself there was a lot of nonsense happening in front of him.

Basically, we look disorganised and I haven't even started thinking about attacking yet.

Going forwards I could see we'll do well on the counter attack but general attacks it doesnt look like we have a plan. To give an example, Southend's plan was pushing us back, few through balls/over the top, attack Rileys side. They had a plan. We didn't have any plan and god only knows why we don't shoot from distance. Aside from Colville no one looks to take a shot on. Worryingly we don't seem to have a plan scoring from free kicks or corners so God knows how we're going to score.

Anyone who can squeeze a positive out of yesterday is good by me. It takes a glass half full person to do that.

Here's hoping they'll turn it round for Tuesday and we'll all be high-fiving on the Midland Road come 10pm.

It was a long day yesterday, in more ways the one.

Due to HS2 preparatory works, my train journey to Southend took an additional 2 hours each way thanks to having divert via Birmingham and the Chiltern line. Left home at 06:45 and didn't get home to 23:30.

As for the match, or rather the mismatch, here goes:

Positives: I was going to say none, but there still looks to be a decent set of individuals there, if only someone could get them playing as a team.

Negatives: Far too many to list. The words that come to mind include disjointed, disarray, depressing, demotivated and clueless. Keep that level of sub-standard up and we are certainties to go down.

Oh and this was what their manager said about their first win "We’ve actually played, for me, better than that in the other two games [against Doncaster and Plymouth] but we did enough". Says it all really.

Thanks for your thoughts on yesterday and sorry to hear about the mammoth train journey, but hey, it will benefit us all when we can get to London 20 minutes faster (hmmm, but what if we don't give a s**t about going to London).

    Anyways ...

That last paragraph was VERY worrying. It sounds like it is a good thing that they didn't play as well as they did against Doncaster and Plymouth.

thing is ronnie, it's clearly evident that not everybody wanted him to succeed. that's the saddest part about the situation at the moment.

Tordoff who allowed Dolan to play 5-3-2 squandering a guaranteed promotion if we'd been lining up in the proper 4-4-2 formation? No thanks!

Fair play to you and thanks for your honest assessment of the game much appreciated.
The radio commentary can be misleading at times but on this occasion you all appear to be singing from the same hymn sheet.

Look Jack Tordoff is now 83 years of age. His son John Tordoff in effect runs JCT. John has no apparent interest in Bradford City. Jack's grand son Sam takes part in performance car racing and again has not discernible interest in Bradford City. The chance of the Tordoff's taking City over appear to be somewhere betwen exceptionally slim to none existent.

You can check this independent source, who knows Jack Tordoff https://bantamtalk.com/index.php?threads/edin-in.514/page-11#post-57227

As the Americans say, City fans, 'need to get real', rather than playing some game of fantasy football club ownership.

There is about as much chance that the Listers or Salt's, will 'take over' the club.

The Tordoff family have far more interest in football and, Bradford City in particular, than Rupp will ever have, that's for sure

Tordoff who allowed Dolan to switch hendrie to a central striker from the wing with stunning effect

Guaranteed promotion? And there was me thinking it was because we didn't win one of our last two games of the season. Oh and we got to round 5 of the FA cup and the quarters of the league cup. Not going up had nothing whatsoever to do with Tordoff and formations. A couple more signings were the only thing missing from the best football i've seen City play.

Too right. That back three of Sinnott, Oliver and Evans were immense. Most of the time it was a 3/5/2.

I’ve always rated that team better than the 98/99 team.

Well,we've strengthened the defence including a good goalkeeper, added some quality to mid field with backup still waiting to play but I'm struggling to see where the goals will come from.Doyle can certainly stick them away but he needs someone to play along side him.

At the minute, unless Jones comes back and fires straight away with Doyle,I can't see us scoring.

Well that is the daftest comment I read on here for a while, many posted their opinions at the time on Collins appointment and said it was a massive risk, but wanting the coach and ultimately the club to fail is laughable.

He's such a non-entity, there really hasn't been any malice towards him that I've noticed.

    Scepticism isn't malice.
