Been there a few times for the museums, but only stayed a while once, back in 2007. Somehow I always seemed to go there during rainstorms -- not drizzle, not showers, but drenching rains that defeated all raincoats and umbrellas!

I'd recommend the antiquities museums, but then again I would say that. If you like ornately-decorated churches, then pop in to one or two of those. The Englischer Garten was nice to walk through. I wonder if the local youths still do as they did when I was there: a stream runs through it, and where it goes under a street it forms some rapids. The youths with some kinds of surfboards would surf the stream, going side to side as often as possible before falling off/otherwise stopping.

The Paulaner im Tal was good for Paulaner beer and German food. I tended to eat there, or get something from a street stand, so have no other suggestions.
