Nice post - I’ve been struggling to put into words how I feel and that pretty much sums it up.

 

It's going to get a hell of a lot worse , looking at pictures form America .
The problem is both sides of the argument have the means to turn it into more than a war of words .

 

It will indeed become worse, because the real underlying issues are being lost to a clouded narrative that's been hijacked by an even clouded political movement. Theres no room for tolerance, empathy, open dialogue, looking at people as individuals. Everything is about group ideology and division

Turns out the 'noose' was a rope handle for the garage door, it's been there since October last year before any driver had been allocated to the garage.

easy mistake to make in the current climate, was quiickly resolved and cleared up though. i have to say nascar are really holding it down for progressive causes recently and i did not expect to be saying that at all haha

Indeed. There's a knife edge on so many things - a deep seated mistrust and very little restraint being shown all around. I'm not criticizing the reaction, but its presumably a factor in why something like this happens and the immediate, default reaction of the driver was one of it being a racially motivated, targeted incident and why it attracted media headlines before any facts were established. And I fear we're in a vicious, downward spiral. Stepping back from the edge to have an open, tolerant debate - where disagreement is allowed and the value of compromise is held - doesn't seem to be on the agenda.
