Great news, I’m over for the match, will collect some off the pitch and give them to our tennis coach (school tennis team) when I get back, he’ll be well chuffed. Just make sure they’re “new balls please”.

The players wouldn't know or recognise what they were, certainly doesn't look like they've seen one before......

I think we need to be slightly careful here. Some of this squad, particularly those signed in the summer, simply aren't good enough. But I think they care, and I think they're trying. The confidence in the squad must be rock bottom, and we don't want to create a toxic relationship between fans and players. However pissed off we are, it won't help and more importantly it would be misguided. The sole focus of our ire needs to be Rupp and Sparks.

I think it’s best to protest by not going to the ground. This tennis ball protest won’t help the players at all, we need results and by not going will hurt the ownership more than the players.

    Too late for that.

One thing fans don't seem to understand is you can't just chant "You're not fit to wear the shirt" and give the player's dogs abuse when you're trying to get a managerial change.

The players don't suddenly forget that when a new gaffer walks in.

And that's exactly what the fans were doing under Hughes.

The relationship is already extremely toxic between fans and players.

I honestly don’t think it is yet Jon, but it’s heading that way. The point for me is, we need to focus on the root of the issues we have, and that’s not the players. The first step in solving any problem, is recognising what the problem is. And I know you realise that, so it’s a general point, not one I’m aiming at you. I say ‘fair play to you’ for your suggestion. I wouldn’t oppose it, we can’t just sit back and watch the club being run into the ground.

What good will lobbing tennis balls at them do ? Will it make them better players ? What message will it send our new manager.

    It's childish.

lobbing tennis balls will only cause fans to give you grief at best and may get you banned , just stand up and walk out en mass even if its only for 10 minutes or so

    It will work

It would get some media attention and embarrass our owner.
We know the owner didn't want to be embarrassed by a flyover.

Can I suggest that protests and demands for improvement which i support in principle, are kept separate from the playing arena. Could we organise an open letter / petition with Sparkes and Rupp demanding a clear statement on the future and direction of the club? If that has no effect then we could move on to a boycott. The advantage of this approach is that players and coaching staff would know that the anger is not directed at them. If of course you want to intimidate, dishearten and undermine the efforts of players etc go ahead. Don't be surprised if you make things worse
