I'm not sure about this WAGMI thing.

Their Twitter profile now has only one post on it.
Happy Jack Settleman seems to have distanced himself from WAGMI, I'm sure they were on his profile before, now they're not.
Their website has absolutely nothing on it and is a really shit Shopify that I could have made with a single stock image in about 5 minutes.

Something smells fishy to me...

I think someone involved has been trying to broker a deal without the necessary backing from all involved...

I'm prepared to look past the unorthodox introduction to City fans, I don't mind all that, it's not very 'board room' but there's nothing to suggest the people involved are run-of-the-mill businesspeople.

But I'm just not sure about what I'm seeing in terms of the professionalism on the whole.

Nothing about this looks like a megabucks investment group that we're supposedly looking at.

Nothing about it makes much sense.

 

I made my feelings about this group very clear earlier on in this thread, so I for one am very happy with this latest news.

I also agree with those who say that this does increase the pressure on Rupp to produce the goods. Absent a Benham (Brentford owner) waiting in the wings, our best bet right now is to make improvements in our current owner.

But from where comes the idea that Thursday's e-mailed offer was the first communication Rupp had with this group? From the "That is all I have received, nothing more..." line in the original T&A report? That doesn't need to mean any more than that the group made an offer without including suitable supplementary materials -- appropriate documents, satisfying any conditions Rupp may have had, providing suitable proof of funds, providing proof of EFL (pending or otherwise) approval, and so on. It would indeed be strange, bordering on lunatic, for anyone to offer to make such a purchase on first contact.

And as per the post by @Steve Burton above: if this group didn't know some of these fundamental elements about City after a longer period of contact, then their operations are not exactly up to snuff.

People on here have been saying that rupp has led to the situation we are in. I do agree with that. I also agree that really if he wants to right his wrongs he needs to put more money in.

that being said you have clearly shown no matter what he does he is damned all the same. If he was uninterested as the majority make out on here he would have sold up to the first bidder and ran with it. With the rumoured amounts he could have made more on his investment and ran.

what does rupp possibly have to gain from lying? Absolutely nothing. And the response whether true or not from WAGMI is incredibly unprofessional and petty. Ultimately it shows me that rupp has made the right choice.

far too many on here get blindsided by pure optimism and hope as soon as a bidder (however unrealistic) comes knocking. Instant gratification. instant success. There are legitimate bidders out there.

 

I don’t get that impression by WAGMI at all. Sounds like Rupp didn’t like the media attention and the Twitter feed the other day to me. Sounds like he’s thrown his toys out the pram.
If Rupp has lied like these investors are alluding to then they have every right to come out and say that. Nothing petty about it. If someone was lying about you… wouldn’t you want to put the record straight?
The whole thing is bizarre but Rupp is the problem here.. not the Americans. The sooner he is gone the better.

 

I’d rather have Ali baba carpets buy us than have rupp in charge . Under his leadership the clubs life has had its heart sucked out of it . Ok the crypto blokes maybe we’re not the right people to come in but him saying he’s not actively trying to sell the club fills me with dread .

These two positions don't make sense, as so many have already said.

You'd imagine if Rupp was lying, he'll be getting sued. If WAGMI are lying, they could easily get sued.

And it looks like someone has been 'economic with the truth'.

 

Looking at the terrible attempt of the copy and paste statement from our “owner,” I know where my money would be going.
There aren’t really any grounds for suing anyway on what we’ve seen. A bit of finger pointing but that’s about it.
I do feel that these investors (one who has been involved in a huge NFT deal with Adidas today btw) wouldn’t have jumped the gun the way they did without being confident of a deal. Something has gone very wrong in the past 48 hours imo.

 

I don't know, there's damage to the reputation of both here potentially.

WAGMI look like mugs if they're saying they've been in talks for weeks/months, their credibility would be in tatters if they actually only lodged a bid with a single email, which is what Rupp clearly said.

Meanwhile, Rupp looks like an idiot based on what WAGMI are saying.
