Thank god we haven't got involved in any of this crypto malarkey. Imagine being at the forefront of something that will transform the way businesses and consumers interact financially. No thank you.

 

Irrespective of how the WAGMI geeks were going to fund us going forward if they had taken over, I cannot imagine them attending games over here anymore than our 'absent' owner and probably know even less about soccer than Rupp does.

 

I have no issue with 'absent' owners who actually invest money, geek or not.

 

I don't think anyone really cares whether owners attend games or not. The criticism Rupp gets re. Not attending games is down to it being a reflection of his general disinterest in the club and actively trying to take it forward.

 

I think Wrexham fans are chuffed Ryan Reynolds attends games and tweets results and photos. Does Rupp even acknowledge to anyone he’s involved with Bradford City? I don’t think he’s even a supporter…in both senses of the word. i remember when Tendulkar signed for Yorkshire. They had him wearing a flat cap holding a pint of Tetley’s bitter. Why haven’t we done that with Rupp?!

A question I can't answer and would love some help and opinions with. Why does Rupp continue to want to be our owner? Is it just money related and he won't give up on being 'our custodian' until he gets a profit on a potential sell? Or has he developed a love for the club despite the shite? Or is he a decent and honest businessman who realizes the Rahic nightmare and beyond has left him in a position where he wants to do right by his mistakes? It's a proper conundrum, chums. If he just wanted to get the fxxx out, he would have sold out to WAGMI. That would have totally paid off his financial commitment. I guess we'll see how committed he is to the future in the budget and support he gives to Mark Hughes, but I'm still totally confused about why he still wants to be here.

 

Bragging rights that he owns a football club.

He has no idea or interest in football so it doesn't mean anything that we're in League Two and not League One, to him having 15k season tickets in either division is the same.

Declare the club self-sustainable so you don't have to put another penny in whilst still maintaining your position atop of the pile...genius businessman (not sarcasm).

He is 100% relying on Mark Hughes to work a bit of magic and get us promoted.

I have no faith in Rupp to back Hughes any differently than he has with other managers. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me five times....

As long as the fans turn up, Rupp’s sustainable model is fine. He’s bought himself next season with thousands of fans who want to see Hughes backed. If he doesn’t back Hughes and Hughes walks, we’ll be back under 10,000 fans, all on price-frozen STs. His model will no longer be sustainable. Whatever Hughes wants next season we must give it to him.

I still think there was more than meets the eye to Hughes’ appointment. Hughes has great links in the game. Is he still pally with his old agent Kia Joorabchian? He’ll be loaded and have plenty of connections with big cheque books. There must be something on the horizon, musn’t there??

What would you expect him to say?

 

I wouldn’t have expected him to take the job with out agreeing to next seasons budget

 

We've never had manager yet who has publicly said he's unhappy with the budget, it's just a generic answer they all give
