I think the result next week will have some bearing on our 'posh' game.
Next week I suggest playing the quick and energetic kids up front, and play our most solid back 4 / 5.

Not sure I agree Portsmouth are the best team in the league. Nor are they on particularly amazing form.

2 wins in their previous 5 league games, both by a single goal.

They're a very hard team to beat, and might well get promoted, but Sunderland are the best team in the league.

 

There were a couple of occasions when a handful tried to get it going but each time, it lasted less than 10secs.

Like @king karl, I too was disappointed. I know neither were there, but we really do need to kickstart this. With the plane being cancelled and likely to get scrapped, we needed to make a vocal stand against Rahic. And it just never materialised...... AGAIN.

Seems we have fans that prefer to;
A) turn a blind eye and hope it’s all been a bad dream
B) slag the club off on fan forums, but keep quiet when they should be voicing their concerns
C) decide not to bother going at all

 

That the one he made when the ref had already blown for a free-kick to us? Just about sums him up; best tackle he’s made and he didn’t even need to

 

Or possibly;
D)choose to put supporting the team first and worry that a negative chant of any description will have a detrimental impact on players already low in confidence.

Irrespective of what I feel toward ER - The Team will always come first and foremost.

 

Thought Chicksen was gash. Got done so easily for their goal. Got done exactly the same afterwards but we kept them out. Was off the pace and the sending off was right. Looked a player that has not played for some time.

 

I can't believe some fans clapped Chicksen off when he got sent off.

Truly unbelievable.

 

My take on everything at the moment is we create chances to take the lead and establish a marker in games but don't have any quality or composure up front to do it.
Add to this our back 4 who are slow and daft as feck then its a right old recipe for nowt this season unless we can magic up 5 or 6 quality bargains in January who put together a 60% win ratio for the rest of the season and keep us up, then we are down.
And for me a lot of this panic among the team comes from the gaffer. I thought after 6 weeks he would have made a difference?

 

Yes, we definitely did not make the best of our chances, but in comparison to previous weeks we actually turned up and put in a full shift.

Agree. The game was more entertaining, both halves!
Find it hard to believe that so called 'professional' footballers lack obvious fitness, which was evident in the second half.

 

I think they were clapping very happily he won't be playing in the next match.

McGowan cost us the goal he let their player come inside him and square across to Evans. Chicksen was nowhere near any of their players as it wasnt his side of the pitch from where they scored so I can't see how he was at fault. Playing wise he was ok and handle their winger pretty well but no complains with either booking the 2nd one was silly when already booked but he certainly wasn't anywhere near as bad some yesterday.

 

I had to vent my anger at that one. I think some in the kop have an affliction that makes them uncontrollably clap when anything remotely interesting happens.

 

The performances are consistently "pointless", but the other strange revelation is injuries and suspensions.If we get players back from injury we either lose them from being injured again,or they get suspended!

What's that all about? Very odd to me.

 

At moment they are top so results say they are. The only better team I have seen so far is Barnsley
