    I see your point but my opinion is that if you accept the job then you are declaring yourself as capable to do the job and you take responsibility if you’re not up to it. If you, me or anyone gets promoted to a position that is out of your depth but you accept the job anyway then you have to take ownership of that decision. You can’t accept it and then entirely blame the person hiring you when it goes wrong. There has to be accountability for the person doing the job.
