Summer transfer priorities

Don't get me wrong, I agree to some extent that we aren't the most "cultured" back line in the league and it does need to improve. I'm just wary in a way that we don't weaken a back line, by attempting to bring in a footballing defender.

First and for most, defend and than think about the fancy stuff.

It's quite ironic with platt, in that he doesn't seem the best ball player in the team, yet the tactic in the last three games has been to use him to hit long diagonal balls to the wing backs, pinning in the opposition in the meantime. A move which has been quite effective, particularly against Barrow

 

Forgot how Pattison plays to be honest.

Well GA has to sign his own players and we have to make why for better players. So, to do this some 1st players need to leave.

 

We don't need anything too drastic to happen. I would focus on bringing in quality over quantity and add three new two CBs, a LWB and a CM, based on keeping Platt, Oyegoke, Pointon, Walker and Smallwood (GA is 100% giving him a new contract). Would like to see Smith and Oliver moved on with another targetman brought in as back-up for Cook. Cook, Young and Kavanagh are more than good enough for league two next season

Yes I completely agree but we have to get rid of the lesser players before the better players IMO.

Id have no issue if Pattison, Walker and Pointon were all part of our squad next season. There are 4 or 5 in the midfield areas that need to go before them!!!

 

Jack Diamond set to be released by Sunderland. Tough few months at Carlisle but a definite League 2 baller. And he was cleared of rape so a none issue.

Not sure if he is a winger or number 10 though. Replacement for Walker if anything.

 

I'd rather have Kemp as a Walker replacement (if needed).

 

Does anybody know the timescales on Pattison and his injury?

 

Yeh I just cant see that one though. He was at MK Dons with GA and was sent out to Swindon.

 

He is on the grass, light training, so guess he will be fit as anyone for the new season - all being well.

 

Linked to Notts County last week but imagine it's just online crap.

Rumour was that in March he told MK he isn't staying regardless of the contract offer, although he didn't exactly carry on his form since going back to MK. Since then, he only started 1 of the last 8 games for MK, didn't even make the matchday squad in one game. Interesting to see if he features in the play offs.

 

Yes Alexander said if we'd made the playoffs there might have been a chance of him being involved to some extent. So he should be fully fit and raring to go in pre-season

Ok, let’s say that all the players stay:

Smallwood, Gilly.
Walker, Pointon and Pattison

Then how do we improve our 1st team making midfield.

All these barring maybe Pointon are high earners also.

Players GA sign will want to play.

 

Kelly is improving a lot and turning into a great player.
Platt a steady L2 centre half.

Stubbs probably the weaker of the three mentioned due to his lack of pace.

 

Different case tbf, he was on tape. Diamond was a cash grab.
